I replaced mine last summer with strip lights from SuperLEDs. I changed from blue to amber because my friends complained the blue was too harsh. the amber looks great! The hardest part after you pull of the old strip is getting the goop off that CR uses to attach it. Also, when you remove the old strip, pull out enough wiring to easily work with BEFORE you cut it. You can either solder or crimp, but either way use some heat shrink tubing to protect the splice. Also, I used clear silicone to seal the hole and the cut end of the strip. Pretty easy job.
