Altitude back deck

Greetings, new owner and new member here. I wanted to know if anyone using the back ramp for a deck had to install a new door or just added the chains to keep the deck level with the ground. Thank you in advance for any suggestions

You shouldn't have to replace the door unless there's already trouble with the door. The stock door will support the deck though.

What model Elevation do you have? It didn't come with the patio deck option installed?

thank you so much! It is a 2016 Altitude and has the ramp door, but the dealer was trying to get me to buy a new door. I think I will use chains and carabinors to keep the door level. How is yours kept in place?

Ours has cables and pins that I don't know the names of.

I think I would like carabiners better, just because they are easier to attach/detach, as long as they're strong enough.

Have you looked at kits? You should be able to get a kit with all the hardware pretty cheap. Some of them are more deluxe with playpen rails and steps.

I haven't really searched for them, but I would think they're out there. I don't know who builds them for the RV manufacturers, but I doubt that Crossroads fabricated the one we have. They have to have bought it from someone.

Try searching for "toy hauler patio kit", "party deck", or "extend a room". I think Camping World might even sell them.
