2011 26BH

New to TT's considering this GEM what does BH stand for? I found a spec sheet. Anything else I can know? I can't get back to the rv dealer for a few more days and found this forum. Excited to join th rv world! We have to be careful of the weight we can't pull much more than this. We decided to possibly get this versus a brand new keystone, giving up an outdoor kitchen and a tv that attaches to the outside unless this one has these features, does anyone know? Thank you

Unfortunately I didn't lookat this one so much when we were there this is like a second thought now that we have financing.

Usually the abbreviations mean:

RL Rear living

Rk Rear kitchen

Re Rear entertainment

Hello and welcome. Which 26BH are you looking at? iezinger, z1, etc. What are you towing with. You state you are near max on the tow vehicle (TV). Is that based up real world scaled numbers of the tow vehicle or stated numbers from a dealer website/manual. Also is that based upon dry weight, loaded weight or GVWR of the trailer? Same goes for the hitch weight, is that based upon a fictional dry weight, loaded weight or GVWR of trailer? This is all so much more important than you know. Towing at or near capacity is not fun. Been there, done that, changed my pants and then changed my tow vehicle.



some manufacturers stated length is box length, some manufacturers stated length is rear bumper to ball. I know on the zinger, the 26 is box length, my 26BL is actually 30 ft long. As mentioned above, with weights, dry weights are not what you will be towing. The dry weight doesn't include propane or battery or anything you will put in or on a trailer. The loaded weight will easily be 1000-1500 lbs more than dry weight (could be more, could be less, these are averages). The tongue weight more accurately should be 13-15% of the loaded weight. The tongue weight must be accounted for in your TV's payload.





Some other abbreviations-

QB- quad bunk

RB- rear bath

BL- not a clue but a bunk model

TB- triple bunk

FK- front kitchen

FL- front living



I love my 26BL (it is a 2011 as well). It has been good to us. It had a few minor issues that were resolved under warranty. The big thing with buying used is to look for signs of water damage. Look everywhere (even in dark hidden places) for bubbling in the wall, soft spots in the wall or floor, water marks etc. Check the caulking on the outside, especially the roof very well. tommy- no loft in mine. the difference between 26BL and 26BH model is I have a u dinette and the narrow bunks whereas 26bh has wider bottom bunk and regular dinette.

Nope bl isn't back living. I have small bath next to my bunks in back.

BL- long skinny claustrophobic bunk with tiny bath? That is unless you are a kid the. That closed I'm bed becomes fall security and eventually a little private clubhouse.

Thank you all we have a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 TRX4 crew cab with a tow package it has been difficult to determine what we can tow. We looked at a 2013 Sunset Trail ST270BH yesterday, and thank you all for the abbreviations love them now!

Looking at the towing capacity and payload capacity of that vehicle, you will be able to tow the ST270BH and stay within the specs. Use a good Weight Distribution hitch with sway control.

now they are offering it at the same price as a 2014 brand new keystone hideout.
I still like the 2011 better though!

These towing stats are driving me nuts. I think I am good a Ram 1500 Quad 4x4 5.7 Hemi with 3.55 ratio towing a ST270BH GVWR 7614. I must have read a dozen explanations but still cant wrap my head around it. I have had very little sleep so I am sure that is adding to the problem. Any help appreciated.
