We have a ST31BH and I was just wondering if anyone might know how to operate the slide manually. Not sure if there is a crank for it or ifI have to rig something up to close it if something happens to the battery/power. Would like to know just "in case".

Your unit most likely has a "Shcwintek" slide mechanism made by Lippert Components Inc. as onour Crossroads ST25RB. We've never had any issues with ours (hopefully never will), but as these video's from the manufacturer show, seems pretty easy should a failure occur. Just make sure to carry along a short step ladder to access & disengage motors from outside trailer slideout. See link:

Hope this helps.

I am seeing this type of slide on more and more units. Looks better than the screw or hyd type slides

One thing I never understood from the videos, is are there 2 motors in a slide unit or only 1?
In one video they were working on a motor in the upper left of the slide in the other video they were working on the upper right??

Also is there a video on the motor access for the electric awning as well?

If its a Shwintek slide, then there are two (2) motors, one on each side. Then there is an electronic control module hidden inside a cupboard or cabinetsomehere. On my ST25RB its under lower right cabinet door under LCD TV. The module syncronizes both motors to operate together so both run at same speed to retract or extract slide. Also has some troubleshootingfeatures to tell you what the problem is when slide fails to operate, (LED lights flashing codes....which you must count). The video links I sent in earlier post shows how this works.

As for the awning, that is made by A&E Awnings I believe (division of Dometic - the refrigerator/AC guys). My ST25RB manuals package came with instructions by Dometic on where motor located (frontside of awning) & how to replace & disengage if it fails. You can probably do a "YouTube" search on repairs video or how to raise or lower in case of failure.

Hope this helps.......Happy camping!
