First some background. We will soon be selling our S&B and will buy an RV to live in. One idea we have is to get a small motor-home to travel in, and a used 5th wheel as our permanent residence. The 5th wheel would stay in western Canada, spending the summers in Alberta and Saskatchewan, and the winters in Osoyoos, BC (the southern Okanagan).
So we want a well insulated coach that can withstand temperatures where the average daytime highs would be just above freezing, and getting down to about -5 C (25F) at night, but there often is a period of up to 2 weeks where the temperature can get down as low as -25 C (-13F)

Has anyone used a Seville (with insulated skirting) in those kind of conditions? How did it make out? I have checked out the Seville Polar-Tec insulation values and they are better than any others, at least on paper, (DRV is comparable but a lot more expensive, and just as hard to find here in Western Canada!) What problems have you encountered? I imagine the small holding tanks will be a problem.

Thanks for any info and advise you can give me.
Marian

Well we don't have a Seville but we have camped in our '05 crusier in temps and conditions like those for over 5 years. The skirtingis a must! Get extra LP tanks for change over or hook up a larger tank. As I'm sure you are aware you need a heated hose for the water, and the valves for the Seville are in the heated under belly if I'm not mistaken so dumping should not be a problem.

Thanks for the help! I see that the Polar-Tec insulation is the same, so it should be comparable, so that is great news! As I said, we will be putting insulated skirting around whatever we buy. And we would be getting a large "pig" propane tank for the winter. Only way to go! Now it will depend on what is available when we are ready. (and how much we have to spend)
