We have a Starcraft expandable that we really like, but it's time for

the kids to be in separate beds and I am tired of setting up beds each

time we camp. We need something under 5000 pounds unloaded. We looked at the Slingshot GT29BH. It has only a 2-burner stove and doesn't come with a gas

oven. We travel for 3-6 weeks at a time and like to be able to make regular meals, so we really need an oven and 3 burners. Is it possible to replace the two-burner with a three-burner stove

and gas oven? I do like the Sunset Trail with bunks, but at 5200 dry weight, it's too heavy for our Durango.

Thanks for any advice.

Call the factory and ask for Randy, They have options that they don't tell people about ??? Not sure why. If it is an option he can tell you how to go about getting it, If not I don't think they will do a special order as things go, some one else will get your special order and you will not. That's the way it was explained to me and I guess as a consumer it's hard to accept but understandable.

Thanks for the suggestion. I will call the factory to ask. However, I wondered if it is possible to replace the stove and oven as an aftermarket replacement. Has anyone done this?

If it only has a two burner cooktop and no opening in the cabnet under the cooktop, then it might not be possible to install a full range with an oven.

I don't know if you thought of this but there are several counter top convection ovens that are available and work great, we have used one for a long time and have great results.

I just built a Slingshot 27RB on the Crossroads website and the required option package now includes an oven with a hood and a $3,000 price reduction.I have shopping for this model for several months and this information is new.
I am trying to verify if this information is correct.
I have a new post under the Slingshot Forum.
Thank-you.

I just took delivery of a 2011 SlingShot 29bhs. Mine had an optional

convection microwave located under the 2 burner cook top. When I asked

about an oven the salesperson told me the SlingShot line does not include ovens because of extra weight (although the poster above indicated you could build one on the website with that).

Mine comes in at 4180 lbs with the included options (not bad for a 29' unit with a slideout!). I am pulling mine with a Dodge Dakota and can't afford the extra weight an oven would add anyway.
