I'm new to the forums - my husband and I are looking to buy our first TT (we have been tent camping), and we've narrowed our selection down to:
Crossroads Sunset Trail 240BH
Crossroads Zinger 28BH
Keystone Summerland 2820BHGS
All three are within our price range at local dealers and we can't decide between them. We're leaning more toward the Crossroads, so I was hoping to get some feedback from people who've had experience with them
I really love the Sunset Trail, but storage looks to be an issue. We'll be camping with our two boys (2 year old and 5 year old) and we want to use this trailer for many years to come.
Sunset Trail pros:
- sturdy aluminum frame
- we love the exterior and interior finish
- larger refrigerator (8 cu. ft.)
- the model we are looking at comes with the exterior kitchen and barbecue, which we LOVE
- Queen bed is 80" long rather than 74", perfect for my tall husband
- the size is right at 27' 7" long, will fit in our driveway just fine and hopefully fit more easily in campground sites
- more aerodynamic and lighter than the other options at about 5100lbs (fuel economy is a big concern)
- porcelain foot flush toilet (how important is this?)
- we love the fiberglass finish (and know we have to be vigilant about inspecting and resealing seams)
Sunset Trail cons:
- less storage
- no kitchen drawers
- no sofa - how to watch TV as a family on rainy days?
- small gray water tank (26 gal vs 40 and 64 in the other models)
Zinger pros:
- sofa (thought the curved wall beside it seems like it would block the TV?)
- much more storage
Zinger cons:
- 1100 lbs heavier than ST, looks less aerodynamic
- wood frame, I feel this could be less solid in the long-term
- Queen bed is shorter (74" vs 80")
- no exterior kitchen
- it's long at 31' 10". We may have to move part of our backyard fence and a mature lilac tree to be able to park it in our driveway (doable but very inconvenient).
Any thoughts? I'm pulling for the Sunset Trail, but worry I'll regret the lack of storage and sofa when the kids are 7 and 10. I'd also love to hear about any experiences you may have had with Keystone.
We have a 2013 F150 Ecoboost 4x4 with Max Tow package to pull with.
Thanks so much
Amy
