Sunset Trail vs Zinger

After much research we decided to purchase a Sunset Trail 26RB. However, the new trailer will not be in until Late May. In the mean time, we were looking through our dealer inventory and they have a 25RB Zinger in stack that they are blowing out because its a 2012. We are completely thrown for a loop now. What are everyone's thoughts? Is there a quality difference between the two? I've been told that the Zinger is wood construction and the Sunset Trail is Aluminum framed. What do you think is better?

The 26RB is a nicer unit IMHO. the Island and opposing slides is excellent and gives you so much more room inside. and I prefer the fiberglass over the aluminum sidding. This is the modelI would have gone with ifI didnt want bunks. The aluminum framing lets you get more trailer at pretty much the same weight.

I would highly discourage this. What is a couple months wait when you may have this unit for say 10 years. I feel you will end up regretting not getting what you really want. Also my personal opinion is the Sunset is MUCH nicer!

We have an island and opposing slides in our ST31SS. We LOVE it. Definitely worth the wait!

This is some great info, thanks. I think we've decided to stick with our original gut feeling and buy the Sunset Trail! Can't wait for camping season

While I love my zinger, I have to agree, wait and get the floorplan you really like. It will save you $ in the long run. Unless you think you will be trading up in a couple of years anyway then go with the cheaper deal.

Welcome to the forum and good choice...if you lived in WI I would be telling you waiting until May is a very easy option...as spring is not supposed to arrive until later that month

You will enjoy the unit you like a lot more than a unit you "opt" for. As stated earlier here...stick with what you fell in love with...it will be well worth the wait.

I agree with the consensus here - just wait for your unit to come in. We have a Zinger, and construction quality is just as good as the Sunset Trails (we toured both factories), but it comes down to what you really want. The Sunset's are a "higher" line of trailers with fiberglass and aluminum construction. Having season camped/towed the wood/aluminum sided unit, I don't see a major difference here- our unit has held up very well and frankly would be easier to repair should a mishap occur.

We love our Zinger, and if we upgrade will likely get another one. HOWEVER, current Crossroads offerings lead us to the Sunset Trail because of the floorplans...ultimately you need to be sure you will like what you get for years to come - not because you don't want to wait a few weeks.

Another thing - the floor plans are similar but you may regret giving up that awesome island kitchen. We favor the ST28BH for the same reason!
