suppose to pick up my 2017 sunset trail 330bh monday

anyone know any bad on these before I bite the bullet, I'm in between it and a keystone sprinter 33bh, but my wife likes the sunset trail 330bh,
only down fault I really seen is the shallow kitchen sink, any help is appreciated, I am having the second A/C put on it

Quality and customer service will be similar. Crossroads is under Keystone now. Of everything I looked at fit and finish was much nicer and better bang for the $$ on the Crossroads products in comparison to Keystone.

The 330 is a step up from our 289. Walked through a few they are very nice.

The Sunset trail brochure I have doesn't show the 330BH and shows all trailers with the dark center on the front cap. When I go to the Crossroads website it also does not show the 330BH. But if I Google it I can find them and they have an all light color front cap that wraps around the corners that I like. All the ones I am seeing are SS and it looks like the light color ones and ST. So what is the different and why do they not show on the Crossroads site?

We are picking up our SS-291RK tomorrow and I never saw any like the 330bh until yesterday. I like that front better and don't know why they don't have them here. Could it be different parts of the country? I'm in Minnesota.

We have a 2017 Sunset Trail 250RB that we purchased in April 2016. It has the light tan wrap around front cap that you referred to. I think they may have changed there design mid year of production and then having the early 2017's having the tan wrap around front cap and the later 2017's having the new design front cap. You may be better off with the newer design front cap. According to other posts on this forum the tan front caps may still have a fading issue to deal with. Our front cap still looks great but it is stored indoors for the winter months and I also treat it with Rejex a couple of times a summer. Fingers crossed it doesn't fade.

The difference is the Keystone take over at least told by my dealer. The early 2017s with the all tan front caps are pre-keystone. The front caps shown currently on their site like my 289qb are post Keystone.

The all tan ones are the caps that had paint issues.

If you look at the vin sticker i'd imagine those ones don't say Keystone RV company such as mine.

That make some sense. So I see that Thor acquired Keystone in 2001 and Crossroads in 2004. So does that mean they started building the Sunset trail in the Keystone factories last year? They still say Crossroads on everything but it sounds like they are all Thor industries owned. The Sunsets look do exactly like the Keystone Premier.

Almost all front caps come from an outside vendor. The cap issues are industry wide.

Keystone is just one of MANY manufacturers under the Thor umbrella, 80-90% of rvs are owned by Thor.

caps

I was told the paint issues was fixed on the 16 and 17s, but it could be a lie, the dealer told me that they were painted and cleared now, but mine stays under a shed when not in use anyway. they had a 331 sitting up there for about a thousand dollars more with the black front but it had a white paneling in the slide we just did not like

Not sure it's 80-90%, Forest River makes an lot of rv's also.

IIRC, Thor & Forest River have 86% of the rv market with Thor having the biggest share. Whatever the actual numbers you'd have a tough time throwing a rock in any campground & not hit a rv that Thor doesn't manufacture.

They way the dealer explained it to me was that prior to mid year 2017 Crossroads still ran their own shop under Keystone...then a transition occurred to where Keystone took over the manufacturing process and began a more hands on approach...take it for what its worth but certainly explains the major redesign. Alot of the interior features remained the same except for color changes in the wood. I like the newer front cap as it is significantly lighter and has a better paint scheme.

We had a Sprinter for nine years. The Sprinter was a step up in the Keystone line from the Springdale. We had friends with a Springdale for the same period of time. Neither of us had issues. The Sprinter had heavier cabinets, more cabinets. I think the sink was stainless steel where the Springdale was plastic. Honestly I would have bought the Springdale if it was the right layout and price.

I'd go with the one you like and can afford. Any RV can have problems. If it's the Sunset Trail that makes you both happy, then that is probably the right choice. If you are getting a second A/C, is it a 50 amp unit? Also, usually a second unit added at the dealer is a meat cooler, not ducted.

Well,(that's a deep subject ) I guess I'm taking the plunge tomorrow,
I'm going from a 38ft jayco eagle 5er to a 330bh Sunset Trail, loved our 5er it just got where it was way too heavy(to hard to stop), hopefully we will be able to venture out a lot further this way, I hope we like it, been years since I owned a wagalone

Curious what you are pulling your new trailer with and is it the same truck you pulled your fifth wheel with. We are getting ready to move up to a Cruiser CR347 from our ST300RK. Love our 300RK but need more room. Have a 2016 HD2500 crewcab Duramax. Pulls trailer like its not there. Hope it will pull a fifth wheel as good. Do you think I will have braking issues like you had?

I pull with a ram 2500, I had a ram 3500 that I should have kept but that's another story, a 12k pound camper is heavy, its not going to stopnear as good as your sunset trail, I picked mine up yesterday and I actually slid the tires on it first thing adjusting break box, my 13k 5er u could turn the break box wide open and it would not slide the tires., its going to big difference for you. but pulling wise that duramax should pull it great
