We have a dilemma going on. We were getting interested in a Sunset Trail ST29SS. Then I had to go and look to see what else was available from Crossroads and found a Cruiser 30QBX at a very attractive price, actually the same price as one of the ST29SS's we are looking at. Part of it is a 2010 model -vs- 2011 models.

I like the mounting point for the flat screen in the ST29SS, but the 30QBX is a better constructed trailer.

Weight is not an issue as we have a crew cab diesel 4x4 that would pull my house down the street and the 2 are only about 1000 lbs apart.

The 30QBX is at a dealer 250 miles away. Now I have to wait until Monday to make some phone calls.

The real problem is I am not a very patient person and the waiting, even for a day, is shear agony.

Can any of you that have one of the above please jump in with comments, likes, dislikes, of your respective units ?

Jim,

We were at the show on Thursday morning. Glad we went as it made me appreciate our Cruiser more than ever. Some of those very expensive models are not built as well as the Cruiser.

Was it me or were the show prices outrageous?Edited by: artgpo

I am very happy with my 2009 CT 31RL...but they do not make this style anymore. Best thing would be to maybe spend an afternoon in the trailer and see if it truly "fits" you. Take some video, or a camera for documentation. Good luck...

unfortunately the closest 30QBX is 250 miles away. we have been in 2 ST29SS amd were very impressed, but as I said, I made the mistake of doing a search on what else they had and found the 30QBX.

DC- Back when we were shopping we originally wanted the Sunset Trail 30QB, as we were negotiating pricing we decided to take a walk to completely remove ourselves from dealer pressured, to recrunch numbers, rebuild our "we would like list", and speak privately. While this was originally good, it turned out to be slightly more costly, as we ended walking into our now Cruiser 5th wheel, we then decided that only for a few dollars more look at what we could have bigger fridge, bigger HW, more storage, better towing, etc. Needless to say the dealer was completely shocked, as we went from a TT to a 5er, which he has never seen, especially as since we already begun the negotiations on the ST.

In the large picture 500miles round trip, isn't that much if think the unit has everything you need and want. If you need more confidence have the selling dealer send you some additional photos of the unit. You mention your impatient but take your time.. I know it's hard, but we didn't step back we would now have a TT instead of our much loved 5er.

The unit is at the Indianapolis Camping World and they have photos posted. As it turns out, one Camping World can deal with units from another.

We are scheduled to sign the papers and pick the unit up next Tuesday. They have to have it driven over and do a go over. The salesperson we dealt with is a long time friend so it was an easy negotiation.
