We have had our 2010 Kingston for 14 months( purchased new) and the seal on the top of the super-slide has become gooey/tacky and has split open. Our underside material is tearing and flopping at the screws to secure it to the frame among other issues... Crossroads says that none of our problems are covered... any guess as to why. We were told last year that our warranty period was 2 years from date of purchase.

Did you talk to Crossroads directly, or is this what your dealer is telling you. Take photos and email to Randy at Crossroads.

yes, talked to Crossroads directly... said only structural is covered for 2 years... very disappointed and will no longer recommend a Crossroads to anyone!

I always thought 2 + 5 meant 2 years for the whole rig and 5 years structural. I guess they make this up as they go along to suit each situation. Can't blame you for being upset. Many other Crossroads owners are also upset about quality and warranty changes/interpretations.

Hi . I would consider a second contact with Crossroads. Call rather then E-Mail. There has been so much controversy and confusion about thewarrantychanges you may have encountered a person who gave a standard reply as they have beeninundatedwith complaints.
Randy and Angie are in warranty service and have always been helpful and most cooperative.

Here is a quote from the boo hiss warranty thread. This is Tom Montague's comparison of old vs new warranties offered by crossroads. Your tt will have the new warranty. This may or may not be of help but it at least spells things out a little clearer. It seems we all thought we were getting a 2 yr bumper to bumper but we weren't.

As you can see the coverage basically remains the exact same, if a vendor covers the product for more that one year, you still get the additional coverage. What we have done is simplify who is responsible for administering the claim. Now you or your dealer has to call CrossRoads during the 1st year and we take care of it. Again - If the vendor offers a warranty outside of the 1 year - you still get the additional warranty coverage. ( See Above )

The biggest change is no 5 year structural warranty which we had very few claims under anyway. The major claims in this category expose themselves within the 1st year - anything after the 1st year is usually due to neglect which we do not cover anyway.

We are now offering the 6 month free inspection on our dime to ensure our owners their unit is free from manufacturing defects. In addition, we are also providing an Owners Care Kit to help you maintain your unit in the proper way. Many of our customers are never informed about, waxing, seals, tire pressure and other important items the owner is responsible for.

I hope this information is helpful in understanding our new warranty. We are working extremely hard to make CrossRoads the RV company of the future.

This is their 12months plus a promise. Believe me they know the adverage person doesen.t get 3 months a year in their rv.

well, the 6 month bumper to bumper inspection would have been taken advantage of if we had known about it... BUT, thinking we had 2 years and finding out now that no one's rig warranty is granfathered, we kept a list and rather than have service come out once a month or every couple of days, thought we would get everything taken care of at once unless it was super critical. We live in ours full time and work countrywide, 6 months here an another 6 months somewhere else. How hard would it be to keep their customers happy and spreading good cheer about the product to honor the warranty under which the unit was purchased... eventually no unit would be covered except under the new policy. Have spoken to both Tom and Angie personally! No luck!

You should still have the 2 + 5 year warranty on your unit. The change to the one year + 12 point promise is only for units built after September 1, 2012. Other people have asked about the cutoff date and have been told this information. You need to press your case with Crossroads management or contact a lawyer. Check for comments about this on the Boo Hiss warranty thread.

Read carefully what I posted. I posted the old vs new comparison to show you what is and isn't covered for your trailer.The old 2 yr limited warranty still applies to trailers built prior to Sept 2012. The new warranty only applies to trailers built after that fateful date. Sorry if I confused you.One question though, did you get your required annual inspection?

where did we miss the "required" annual inspection information? Read the black covered owner's manual cover to cover a year ago... didn't see that...

There is another thinner manual, i think it has a blue cover. Toward the last pages there is a page where the inspecting dealer can sign off each year for the annual inspection. The page is poorly laid out as there is no where on it to fill out owner info, vin #, etc. I always wrote my name, address, model, and vin# on the top of the page so Crossroads would know whose unit it was.

I did find it in the warranty statement and policy pamphlet and yes it had been inspected within the first year but I don't know for certain if it was faxed to Crossroads by the inspecting and authorized Crossroads dealer. Live and learn... still love our 5th wheel just not all that happy with the warranty hoops. Thanks for all of the input.

I have a 2012 Crossroads Crusier 28RKX...it will be one year old in April. I know it sounds like overkill, but based on all that has happened, I have decided to take my unit back to Shipshewana in April for my annual inspection, by Randy and the boys at the factory. I am heading to my Son-in-Laws graduation from graduate school at Ohio University so a stop in Indiana is right on the way. We will leave the unit there and head up to MI to spend some time with my son, pick the unit up on the way back. I figure after all that has happened what better way to have proof of how good of a shape the unit is then to go to where it was built.
