What to ask before taking Tea

Hello! We are going to be doing a walk through of our new CrossRoads Zinger Z-1 ZR38SB this week. What do you recommend we ask or have them show us what to do before accepting it? Hubby & I are first time RV owners.

Thank you,
Christine

There is a pre-delivery check list on this site.

Can you stay overnight at the dealership to 'test drive' it ?

Unless very experienced, trying it is really the only way to check it out

and suggest both of you take short videos or each section of the walk thru so you can refer to it later...

I have been rv'ing for a long time and still have our walk thru videos in a folder on my tablet. New rv's have new 'stuff' and it helps.

Congrats and good luck !
Just chill and make it fun !

Have the sales person start/ turn on EVERYTHING. I am amazed the what I see in campgrounds, and hear about people that , evidently, did not get a good PDI.

Have them show you where the fuse box is located. We purchased the same one earlier this year and on our second trip the remote to open the slides stopped working due to a tripped fuse. It took us opening several different compartments to finally locate it on the side of the fridge way in the back, took two of us to hold up the main panel (accessed from the door panel) while the other shoved their hand behind it with a long needle nose pliers to pull the bad fuse and replace it.

We spent almost 3 hours there learning everything we could and asking all sorts of questions. We were first time buyers as well and our guy walking us through was very helpful!

One note you will most likely want to purchase a new mattress for the main bed, we slept on it one night and used amazon to purchase a new one before our second trip.

Better yet, YOU BOTH turn every knob, flip every switch, open every nook & cranny while video is rolling & ask questions about what's behind every door. If it's like most dealerships the salesman won't have a clue about 50%+ of the operations. #1 ask where the tv antenna booster is located & if I were to guess you'll get that deer in the headlights look.

Make sure water pump works without leaks, city water also without leaks, and have them hook up sani-flush and check for leaks under bath sink and make sure water enters black tank. Get up near shower skylite on roof to make sure no cracks are seen.

Mine was supposed to come with a remote. I finally got the remote 4 months after we picked up the unit. I still can't get it to work and the dealer or manufacturer can't help me program the thing. Very frustrating.

We bought a memory foam topper the first week we had our camper, pretty much every camper. We had a queen sleep number in our Sprinter, traded for a Heartland park model with a King so we sold the sleep number and bought a foam topper. Traded the Heartland and have a queen again. Wish we had held onto the sleep number, they aren't cheap.
