Pretty sure you cannot add a GM controller in the truck that didn’t have it in the first place. Tekonsha seems to be the choice of aftermarket controllers out there.

Agree with @Lloyd. Consumption of power seems to always exceed replenishment without massive battery backup. It’s hard to fully charge batteries in the shade of a campground.
