If your unit is prewired for solar, that is the wire that is connected to battety + for the solar charger. I have one also and traced it yo the solar plug on the fron cap.

I bought some pool noodles and slit them, then when I set up, I slip the noodle over the top edge of the slide. It prevents the awning from contacting the sharp edge of the slide.
