When we had our HH and we were wintering AZ. we usually left home shortly after Xmas. I had heat in it when we started to load and ran heat all the way to AZ.

I also installed adjustable registers. One in the kitchen and one in the bath (got pretty warm in there before). Haven't had any problems, and it's a nice way to adjust/regulate the heat.
