You do have to hold it square against the tank...

You do have to hold it square against the tank and press hard in towards the tank. I only move it maybe a 1/4 to 1/2 inch has I work my way down the tank.

Been using the GasCheck now for 6 months and love it. You do have to be square with the tank and push it in but it works great.
I did put a full mark on my tanks after filling them using a magic...
