I just went out to ours and tried pushing up on...

I just went out to ours and tried pushing up on the top at the corner and the slide did start to tilt up. I didn't push to hard, so it didn't lift to high, I don't want to break anything.

I was going to suggest that, on a back country...

I was going to suggest that, on a back country road and hit a few bumps. You could also try lifting up on the bottom corner of the slide when it is in, to see if it moves or flexes.
