Glad to hear it worked out for you. When I winterize, I also put some olive oil in the toilet. Won't dissipate and will keep the seal soft.

I'd give the oil a shot before you go to replace...

I'd give the oil a shot before you go to replace them, for the water, try using a bucket of very hot water in the tanks. May help soften up the gaskets.
