But there are and there are plenty of recalls. Just like with cars, owners have to file complaints with NHTSA, then if the issue is verified, deemed a highway safety problem and enough complaints...

After repair, the frame can also be reinforced with a 6 inch length of 1 inch wide steel welded at a 45 degree angle from the edge of the frame to the web. A number of frames are reinforced this way...
