The ecoboosts hands down have the power to pull it, the only thing making me want the gasser 6.2 when it's time to get rid of my Blue 2010 F-150 is the added weight, beefier brakes, and more payload....

I agree with Mark. I wouldn't be half surprised if they only offer the diesel option if you get the max payload package which will up the GVWR. I guess what would worry me would be the added tongue...

I keep hearing late October, to even into early next year before we'll see this option in the 2018 model year. IE, they will be churning out 5.0's, 3.5's, 3.3's, and 2.7's before we see the 3.0L...

Personally, I believe it's going to depend on your needs. I bet it will have higher torque, but lower HP than the current 3.5L ecoboost. But now added weight, so payload is going to go down. Now...
