A Cruiser Convention is scheduled for June 9-12, 2011at Treasure Island Casino Campground near Red Wing Minnesota. The primary purpose of the rally is a chance for Cruiser owners to get together and share upgrades, modifications, problems, solutions, decorating ideas, etc. Hopefully that explains why the convention is limited to Cruisers only.

This is a first attempt at an agenda:

Thursday, June 9 - Check-in and set-up. Supper at the casino which happens to be their seafood buffet night (4 - 10 P.M.). If you have to go out and hunt beer cans in the ditch to pay for it, this is one meal you won't forget!

Friday June 10 - Tour of Red Wing shoe factory (10:00 A.M.)
http://leisuregrouptravel.com/red-wi...factory-tours/
A chance to see one of America's most popular footware in the making
Lunch?????
Tour of Red Wing Shoe museum
http://www.roadsideamerica.com/tip/20854
This is a completely different location and it's claim to fame is the size 638-D actual leather boot on display inside the building.
If you are interested in touring more points of interest, there is also a tour available of the Red wing pottery factory which is close by.
Pot luck supper????

Saturday June 11 - (10:00 A.M.) - Tour of National Eagle Center, Wabasha, Mn
http://www.nationaleaglecenter.org/hours-admissions-directions/
You have to see this to believe it. Outstanding hour long lecture with actual live Eagles sitting right in front of you. Kids will love it. Many opportunities for photos with the live eagles.
Lunch???
1:00 P.M. - ?? - Cruiser tour. Chance to show off your modifications, upgrades, changes, decorating ideas. Even if you have not changed one thing on your Cruiser you may come away with modifications that you like, have seen first-hand, and had a chance to talk with the person that actually did the modification.
Supper????
Sunday June 12 - Go home

All the sites are full hook-up. Free shuttle to the casino. Current rates are $25/nite for 50 amp so it is one of the best RV parks around at the best price. There are sites available right next to a shaded grassy area with fire pits. They are considered "premium" sites and go for $30/night but are 30 amp. The campground is all paved with a pavilion and a shaded grassy area for B.S. session. We have access to the pavilion for pot luck or any possible rain changes in activities. They also provide free access to the hotel swimming pool and spa.

If you would like more info on the campground:
http://www.treasureislandcasino.com/stay/stay-rvPark/

If you would like to attend, please call the campground to make reservations:

1-651-267-3060
The campground has the sites reserved under "Cruiser convention"

Reservations should be made prior to May 24, 2011 to make sure you get in the Cruiser line-up. If you do make reservations, please let me know with a PM or post a reply here.

SOBs (Some Other Brand) are welcome but asked to park in adjacent areas to allow all the Cruisers to be grouped together.

At this point I'm looking for any ideas or suggestions and of course anybody that would like to assist in any way possible.
Ken

Ken,

Sounds like a good idea. Count us in. We'll call and register for the campground.

Thanks for putting this together. I'm very eager to see all the different mods that cruiser owners have put in their 5ers.

Can't wait.

Heck, that's almost in my front yard. I think it's a wonderful idea, and we are definitely considering it. Will let you know in a few days.

Bummer!! I am already booked that weekend to cook for our outdoor clubs summer picnic. Have been through that area a few times and loved it. We have family on the other side of the "cities" and will be through there the first part of July. Wabasha...home of the Grumpy Old Men movies....you betcha!!

GREAT IDEA!! We need to check work schedules. We saw the 638-D at THE State Fair a few years ago. Hope to make it.

Hey Ken,

We paid our camping dues for the Cruiser Convention this morning. We had to wait a little bit until Deb found out that she could take Friday off. She did, so we'll be there Thursday evening. We are really looking forward to this event. Should be fun. We'll be in site A3.

....A year too early and many dollars to little, as we spent the time and money going to the "sunny South" this past winter. And to make matters worse, only 7 days of sunshine, 70 degereesin 2 months.
Perhaps, next year.

Lloyd - I think My cf325ckp will be available the week after Easter so I should have it time for the Cruiser conference. I hope to have a lot of the mods put in by that time. I'm looking forward to see whatever mods others have come up with also.

Lloyd - I see you posted that most of your lights are now LEDs. Am I correct in assuming you will be prepared to show the rest of us at the rally how you did that and where you bought your supplies? Maybe with a little extra planning we could get the job done while we're at the rally.

Steve - Did you tell them you were part of the Cruiser Conference? Looks like your site is about 5 rows over from the rest of us

Ken, I would be more then happy to show and explain the LEDs. It's a pretty simple procedure really. Just plug them in.

I see Frank has been in here trying to stir up trouble.

Lloyd - I was hoping that maybe you had changed the tail light assembly. I know on a previous Kingston water managed to get into the socket somehow and corroded everything. On my last Kingston I had a rear fiberglass cap with LED lights and they were recessed....no problems.

Ken, yes we told them that and we only needed 30 amp ,is the "A" row just 50 amp.

I did the whole housing replacement of the tail lights to LED and changed some roof and reading lights to LED.

Steve - I was told the "A" row is only 30 amp, all the rest are 50 amp. The "A" row however is right next to the grass area and firepits.
Looking forward to finding out how you did your tail light conversion.

Just talked to them and they said the "A" row was 50. He seemed reluctant to move me even though I said for 2 bucks move me over. So I was told to call in a couple of weeks to see how many sign up and then maybe be moved. Seems strange that he wouldn't just move me.
