Was thinking about joining Good Sam and was wondering if this was worth the 18 bucks a year. Thanks for your input.

My brother is a Good Sam member. He travelled down into the States one year. He saved money on places and when he got sick they were worried because my sister in law does not drive the truck and fifth wheel. Good Sam will provide a driver to bring your rig home. That is a savings in itself. Once we start travelling with our rig, we will become Good Sam Members.

If you're traveling and camping the membership is worthwhile, especially if you stay at Good Sam parks as you get a 10% discount.

Be prepared to be deluged with junk mail ad nauseam soliciting RV insurance, Roadside assistance, Repair insurance and etc should you decide to join.

Sounds like a pretty good deal, but after some thinking about what kind of camping we do meaning we stay at Yogi Bears, already a member of KOA, state campgrounds and race tracks not sure it would be worth it yet to take advantage of the discounts, but it sounds like they offer a lot more then just discounts on campgrounds like their magazine, trip planner and like Hummer stated you can have someone drive your rig if needed. So maybe not using the campground discounts the other service may still be worth it.

We are lifetime members and are glad to have it. We have the towing service for all vehicles in our home for $70.00 a year. Now you get the Camping world President club discount with Good Sam membership. You do get a lot of Junk mail when you sign up.

In addition to the Good Sam Club we also subscribe to their Platinum Emergency Road Service which replaced our AAA membership because of several extra features which includes towing for your truck and trailer if necessary plus it covers boat trailers, etc. We also like KOA, but stay at more Good Sam parks because of the location and price.

There isn't anything that camping world sells that can't be purchased cheaper some place else.
That's been my experience anyway.

I would join Good Sams but not CW because of their pricing of their products. Raise the price 40% above every body and give the members a 10% discount.

The Roadside Assistance plan is the best. Far better than CAA or AAA. That alone makes membership worthwhile. The trip planner, etc. is a bonus.
