I just purchased a new Sunset Trail 25RB Reserve. Pick it up Saturday. This unit is for family trips and just general recreating at the beach and up in the mountains.

I'm not new to RVing or travel trailers. This is my second purchase from this dealer, so I have some confidence in them taking care of me.

When I was first shopping, I didn't really want this big of trailer. But the Sunset Trail line seems to be such a good value considering all thecomparable units. So for just a bit more money, I got alot more product, or so I believe anyways.

Another thing I noticed when shopping: Not sure if this is really a dealer thing, or just a brand quality thing. At the other dealer in town who carries mostly Forest River, so many of the units were filthy and had many obvious things broken and needing repair. I'm talking random screws laying about, trim hanging off, wires hanging out, stuff like that.

At my dealer, every unit seemed tidy and well put together - ready for sale more or less. Is that unusual?

Congrats on your new ST. We went from a 23' Dutchmen to our 30' Sunset Trail and found the bigger trailer easier and more econimicalto pull. Bonus! We also weren't expecting to buy as big but bought for all the same reasons you stated. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Interesting story about the Forest River dealer. Bought a Coachmen trailer, now under the Forest River corporate umbrella, after seeing the same model at dealers in Salt Lake City and Denver. The one in Salt Lake was a shambles exactly like the Forest River model you described while the one in Denver was imaculate. I assumed at the time that it was a factor of dealer prep but wasn't sure. I haven't seen any trailer when it first comes in at the dealer from the factory. Every trailer I've owned has had some amount of cleanup yet to be done such as sawdust under the bed or behind some panels. Sounds like your dealer is one I would buy from.

That's a nice rig you decided on. Have fun!

Yes, congratulations to you, I think you will really like it. I went from a 19' to the ST30BH. It is easier to pull, more fuel efficient, and a lot easier for me to back up. I have 3 boys and we really love it.

We bought a ST Reserve 25RB in November 2011 and have really enjoyed it. We have taken it to Lake Greenwood, SC, Panama City, FL and Savannah, GA so far. I am sure you will enjoy it.

Congrats on the new TT, had our Sunset Trail Reserve 29ss for about a month. Just as you stated we also did not want to go that big , however with 3 boys the bunk area in the back is a plus. Enjoy the new toy !
