Has anyone modified their camper by removing the black water holding tank and straight piping the toilet? How did you do it and are you satisfied with the result? We have a Hampton 39FK on a permanent site and having to basically crawl under the bedroom slide to pull the drain lever is bothersome.

Two issues that would have to be resolved are venting the new drain (RV toilets are vented via the black tank) which means reattaching a vent line to the existing vent once the black tank is removed. Another issue may be having enough water per flush to get a good flow of solids all the way to the drain connection. RV toilets flush very low volumes. You may have to look at installing a normal toilet to get more water flow.

Good info. Had thought aboout the need for regular toilet, but was unaware of the vent issue. I always appreciate the good sound advice from you!

You should also look at the strength of the floor where the toilet will go. Remember that a standard toilet weighs a LOT more than an RV toilet. You may want to consider some bracing below it.
