Yesterday I attempted to install a second Maxxfan in our Cruiser. All went rather well if you don't count working in the hot South Texas sun. I installed this one in the 1/2 bath replacing the existing exhaust vent. After I had installed the mounting frame and used Dicor 501 sealant it was time to hook up the wires. There are two white with green stripe wires and two white wires. After I hooked up the black wire to the striped wire and the white to the white I got nothing! At this point I secured the fan to the mounting frame and called it a day. The storage place where we keep our Cruiser has a repair place located on site. The owner of the repair place just happened by and came in to see my handy work. I explained the situation then he left to get a test light. When he came back he had the fan running in about a minute hooked up as did I. Go figure. Being that I was in a state of collapse at that point I left the trim ring for anotherday. Moral of the story: I could have paid the guy a $100 for the install as I did for the first Maxxfan and not gottenfeelingso bad.

I am not cheap, just frugal.

I'm not about to pay someone to do something I can do myself either. Saves me the cash for cocktails to celebrate a job well-done.

The job was completed this morning when my son came to the storage place, measured, trimmed and installed the garnish ring. From there it was off to the Blue Beacon Truck Wash on the other side of San Antonio for a wash.
