I recently damaged a tire on my 2010 29RK and had to replace it. I noticed it had a little uneven treadwear on the inside of the tire but not enough to be concerned about. However, when I checked the opposite tire on the axle it showed pretty severe wear in the same area. No chance this is a warranty item with Lippert?

Anyone ever had a shop do an alignment on a trailer axle?

I took my PP to a truck shop that could align the axles. I too noticed some uneven tread ware. They did a great job and it has been pulling great.

We had the same thing happen to us. It turned out to be a bent axle. I replaced the rear axle.

I would say take it to your dealer. In my mind that is a warranty item to be looked at.

if it is a Lippert axle , they are warranted for 18 months . just recently discovered my rear axle was bent upward about 12 inches from the hub . took it to local shop and had the guages put on . camber was off somewhat . just got back from a 2500 mile trip . i put new tires on before we left in case there would be abnormal tire wear . wear was the same all the way acros the tire . like the man said at the shop , if the tires are wearing good, leave it be which is what i am thinking i will do . there are shops that can straighten axles . if i ever get another rv , it will have Dexter axles , not Lipperts JMHO

Thanks for the input. Trailer is almost 3 years old so out of Crossroads warranty. I doubted Lippert warranty would be any longer. Will check with local shop and go from there.

How and why do axles get bent, in the first place. Not looking forward to anything like that. Seems would be costly ...

Hey pulp, You said Recently damaged a tire.. What was involved with this? Was this the reason of the axle problem?

Therear bent axle was the result of a blown tire that was chewed up by a broken shock mount. I may have the same problem again, on the front axle, because I had a tire blow in it last summer and I'll have to monitor my tire wear

Tire was damaged from running over a sharp object. Looked like the handle of a fingernail clipper. Happened in front of my house as I was returning from a month long trip. Got out of my truck and heard a hissing as I walked around the trailer. Puncture as luck would have it was way out on the tread toward the sidewall. After repair you could see some potential sidewall damage.

You know what they say...........most accidents happen within 5 miles of home. I've done nothing that I'm aware of that could have bent the axle. The other tire on that axle had a cut in the tread about 3/4" in diameter. Again, looked like I may have run over something. This is the tire that had most of the wear issue. Sad to have to replace BFG Commercial TA's with so much life left in them.
