I have a 2011 Zinger ZT25SB with a cabinet for the TV above the dining table. The flat screen TV is wider than the opening in the cabinet and must be strapped down with a velcro strap for traveling. Has anyone modified this cabinet to either make it wider of build a frame to mount the TV while still allowing access to the rear when needed? I am ready to undertake this project and, if anyone has done it before, why re-invent the wheel? Pictures or plans would certainly make this an easier job.

Have you considered a mount with an articulating arm? This would enable you to use a wider screen and allow access to the back. I used one for our outdoor kitchen (ST25RB) and it works great.

I have an articulating arm now but I don't dare rely on it with the weight of the TV while traveling. I believe the stress is too great on the wall mount.

How heavy is your TV? The mount I got holds up to 40lbs. The hardware that came with it included 5" sheet metal screws that were more than sufficient for it. I set one bracket over the sink where the label noted to install the TV mount. The other bracket I mounted outside next to the kitchen (to the rear of the rig where there was an aluminum stud).

BTW, even with this mount you'd need to use a strap to secure it whenever the rig is towed.

Well, in my estimation, the weight of the TV multiplied by the leverage factor on that long arm reaching out from the wall, is too much stress on those 4 screws for my taste and I'm not willing to depend on that swivel arm and the mounting. If I'm right, I'll be safe. If I take the chance and am wrong, I think the result will be worse than building an enclosure. So, thanks for the advice but, I'm not willing to take the risk.

We just mounted our TV on the wall with a flat bracket. This particular bracket enables me to remove TV from wall when traveling (TV just lifts off wall portion of bracket). Does your bracket have a "quick release" or anything?

I mounted bracket solidly...but prefer to stow TV since I can.

I just picked up our Zinger 29Bh and am going to be mounting tv's this weekend. But am wondering how long of mounting screws did everyone use when mounting brackets to the side walls where our mounting areas are? i don't want to use a screw that goes through the outside wall. It looks like the side walls look like they are an 1 1/2 thick.

I used 1 inch lag bolts...cannot remember the size of them but probably 3/8's in diameter...use a small drill to start the hole, go in about 1/2" and then put the lag in with a wrench or a ratchet...don't overtighten...the 2 bolts will hold up to 30 lbs...my 19" weighed less than 10 lbs. Good luck,
Jim

Our Zinger originally came with a TV shelf back in the corner. Totally worthless.

I replaced it with a swivel mount so we can watch from the dinette or the sofa. Even though our TV is not that heavy, I take the two minutes to slide it off the rack and place it on the bed when travelling. Never had a problem. Better safe than sorry, I say.

Double-check that for sure! I used spacers as our screws that came with bracket (about 2 1/2" long) would have gone thru wall into bunk area. a 1-inch screw should be OK. I would have bought shorter ones if the spacers didn't work.

1 inch is fine as long as you use a wide thread...like on a lag bolt...a finer thread will pull out...trust me

Yeah...ours were lag bolts, too. I can only speculate how you learned that lesson...
