Am planning to head for the coasts of Northern CA, OR, & WA on 9/1. No deadline on return. Any recommendations of what to see and where to stay will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

So many things to see and do in those states. I highly recommend that you take in all of the National Parks in all three states as well as the Mount St. Helens monumentin Washington State. We made that trip in '07 and really had a enjoyed it. Also be sure and take in the areas along the coast. You will be missing some great views of the Pacific if you don't.

Uh, guess I need to be more specific. I really did mean the coasts, like following 101 up from northern CA, the entire OR coast and up into Olympic National Park in WA. Return route is undecided at present.

Sounds like a very nice trip you are planning.
We stayed at a military campground in WA. (right on the coast) when we were out there a few years ago. Can't tell you the name of it though. It was pretty much straight west of Tacoma.

Don't think I'd need any recommendations if I had a million bucks to dispose of. Thanks anyway.

If at all possible, make reservations at the many state parks. From Arcata, CA. heading north state parks are the way to go. Most of the CA state parks don't have hook ups but most of the Oregon state parks do. Give yourself plenty of time - lots to see & do. Specifically in northern CA Prairie Creek State park is a must. (Trails, ferns, redwoods, ocean). Lots of info for your trip can be found on the internet. Enjoy.

Actually, the in-laws (mother, sister, brother) live in the Bay area along our route. Joyce and I plan to spend about two hours with them on Sept. 12th before we attend the Utah-San Jose State game. That way, we have a deadline to leave their house so as not to be late for the game. What a plan .Next day, we'll leave for the trip north up the coast. Have to be in Eugene the next Saturday when the Utes play Oregon. That will be the third game in a row we'll attend on our trailer route starting with the first game in Salt Lake. Love my Utes! With many new players including quarterback, don't know what they're going to do for an encore oftheir undefeated season and #2 ranking of last year. Anyhow, GO UTES!!!

Sounds as if you have the plan Russ. Janet is in the middle of planning her football season. I am in the middle of having a man cave erected. I think a steel door will be instore for this man cave
