Dually or not?

Currently have a 30' TT and looking to upgrade to 5th wheel in a few years. Should I go 3500 dually or no?

I wouldn't go dually unless you plan on towing a monster 5er. If you plan on keeping the weight under 14,500lbs, which is easy to do - I'm at 12,800lbs and 35 feet and definitely don't need a dually.

If you want to go to 16,000lbs or possibly more, then yes a dually is the best choice. If you don't need duals, don't buy one. PITA to park, rougher ride and may not fit in places you want to go. JMO but it's probably overkill unless you plan to go big.

You can never have too much truck. I bought what the dealer had on closeout at a great price. If it had been a dually it wouldn't have bothered me. Saying that I'm retired and it's not my daily driver so parking etc doesn't bother me.

I would go for a 2011 or newer 3500HD/F350 Diesel SRW truck. I prefer a long box (8 foot).
