Harley, I'm pretty sure it's fiberglass. I believe in a previous post someone stated it is. Fiberglass reacts to the heat in funny ways. I remember back a few months that there was an issue about a bad batch of fiberglass caps having rippling and fading issues.

Roaddog. That is very bad for a 1 year old camper. Contact your dealer and crossroads ASAP....

Mark , I think you are right ,probably thin sheet fiberglass or like. usually ripples show up along the joint at the stone guard area.

Yes the fiberglass was not put on correctly. I clearly see that it wasn't glued and sealed. There is definitely a leak causing the wrippling...water is getting inside for sure. Good luck and keep on the dealer and crossroads for sure... Call daily...

It is 'glass...same stuff as sidewalls.

Nice tow rig DW. You won't even know the trailer is there!

Also, CR is definitely NOT the lone ranger with defects and issues. It is an unfortunate reality of the industry. The difference is CR steps up to assist in fixing it. Maybe not to certain expectations, but as a whole they do a MUCH better job than most, if not all other manufacturers.

Well i was cleaning out the front storage compartment for the trip to the dealer and came across this water stain spot from the delamination. I also found moisture on a small rug just inside the entry door, but none anywhere else. Nor could I find any way the rug got damp...no trail or drips of water, no stains, no other damp areas.

I checked under the bed storage, both wardrobes, the slide roof/sides and rug, but nothing looked like any water ever came in. I also found a type of paper-like material at the bottom of the diamond plate cover. It seems brittle and had dust and flakes coming off of it. I guess that is supposed to be the moisture barrier.

Anyways I sure hope the front cap repair solves these issues.

What is directly above that water on the rug? The TV antenna? I would check the sealant around that.

I am glad your repairs have been authorized and the repairs are forthcoming.

An update on mine. After not receiving a call back from 3 messages I left with my service advisor, my wife stopped by the shop to have a "talk" with them. Now all of a sudden after 10 days of the camper sitting without being touched I am being assured that it will be pulled into a bay tomorrow and I should receive a call no later than Wednesday as to what it needs and the status of any potential repairs. It's a good thing she went in, because my blood is still boiling. The saga continues...

Face to face is usually the best way to handle the service tech at your dealer.

My camper was in the bay yesterday and I received a call from my service advisor and he said that Crossroads has authorized all repairs and parts are on order. According to the SA, it's not as easy to just replace the layer of fiberglass. The entire nose to the unit is being replaced. Wall and all. They haven't torn it apart yet, they are waiting for the parts to start, so who knows, the parts list could get longer.

Good to hear DWags. I'm dropping mine off on Sat for work to begin Thurs. I'm hoping they replace the whole front as you stated, I don't want any future leak or mold issues. I'm also having them look at the wheel well side skirts to address them being completely faded.

Doesn't surprise me. My dad was a tech at Hartville RV. They'd replaced the front wall on a Jay Feather hybrid, and the ENTIRE side wall on a 35' travel trailer that was damaged. Jayco reps came to see it as most dealerships don't order an entire wall!

Sigh,

I miss Hartville RV. I bought two trailers from Bob. They're repair shop guys are the best. Even got on the phone with me for an hour when we were camping to get my water heater started.

They're awesome.

I wish they sold Crossroads!

To use a pun, I'm not a happy camper. After sitting on my unit for a month, my dealer service advisor is telling me they aren't going to have the unit done until after Memorial Day. I called today to pick the unit up after my service rep told me I could as the repairs haven't begun yet and was told that they aren't able to move units on Sunday. While I understand today is Sunday, how do they move unit to sell them when the service department is closed? I am calling Crossroads tomorrow to verify the info I'm being told by the service rep and asking who else can work on the unit.

That sucks...yet somehow I am not surprised. Our camping neighbor called CW last week and asked exactly what they do for $995? The guy didn't know.

He has CW making an on-site visit on the 22nd to look at/fix several issues. Minor things, but issues that should have been fixed at dealer prep.

Well after the dealer got the front fiberglass off they discovered more damage to the structure so they had to request additional warranty labor/parts hours from CR. It was approved, but dealer has been dragging feet getting work started. We have our first trip planned Labor Day weekend so I'm praying they get it finished. My TT has been there since April 27th and May 1st was start day which should have provided plenty of time.

I sure hope they have it done by September. But I think you mean memorial day.
