2014 Sunset Trail - TV Antenna

Someone decided to steal the antenna off the top of our 2014 240BH...

Anyone know where I can get a replacement easy, and if i need to stuff something into the top of the camper to keep rain etc. out...

Thanks!

If it was one of these Jensen antennas, you need to thank them!

It probably blew off. Mine did, saw it hit the road. Just kept going because it shattered.

We just drove our brand new 2015 22 RB home from the dealership yesterday. This morning noticed the antenna was missing. It must have blown off somewhere along the way... dealership is going to replace it. Hope it didn't hit someone behind us! Guess we now have holes in our roof that will need fixed too. UGH =(

Not telling you what to do, but I would make a stand now for an upgraded antenna. I really thought they had stopped using those Omni-directional antennas after all the complaints. Good luck.

I wanted to install a crank up windguard on my reserve after the original blew off but the dealer told me that the 1/8 inch Luanne roof would not handle it.

Antenna issue

I have a 2012 Sunset Trail 30re. I have the bat wing style antenna on my camper. Doesn't work well at all if you are in a rural setting.

My last camper had a winegard crank up. That at least allowed me to rotate the antenna to a strong signal.

My current antenna does not turn at all. Does anyone have a VERY GOOD suggestion for a replacement?

Do you have the Bat Wing or a Crank up directional (Winegard Wingman) antenna???? I don't think that was ever established..

I lost my antenna off of my 2015 ST28BH this summer while on the road. Took it in for warranty repair, and the dealer determined it was never even screwed at the factory. Took a while for the roof sealant to fail I guess. The dealer replaced it under warranty.

You do not have 1/8 inch Luanne on your roof.

I most certainly do, have already replaced the sky light and you could see the Luanne replaced the vent in bedroom also 1/8 Luanne and had the front cap replaced also 1/8 inch Luanne. according to the manufacturer about half the builds in 2013 used 1/8 inch Luanne. this is not my first rv I have been restoring them for over 30 years I do know what 1/8 inch Luanne is.

Sorry Mike. That should have read as a question and not like a statement.

All the CR literature I have looked at and the website as well states 3/8" plywood. That would seem to be false advertising. I could see using it on the ceiling but not the roof. My literature also says "walkable roof".

It's all good, the dealer showed me two other reaserves that also have the thin Luanne roof that is why they use the type of antenna that they use. Now that I know for sure what kind of roof I have I will use plywood to walk on it.
as far as the false advertisement goes I not sure what will happen with crossroads I can live with it but sure am disappointed all my previous rigs had at least 3/8 inch.

Agree with a few above, ours blew off the top at 60 mph. Watched it happen myself as it flew across the other lane. Held down by 2 screws about 2" long and a bunch of dicor sealant.

Hey Crossroads, if you are listening, you KNOW this is a problem. Fix it!!!!

Ours came off in the middle of South Dakota and after an emergency patch job (BTW, Duct tape does NOT work), we got it back to Ohio and got us a whole new rubber roof because the front half came up from the roof adhesive. Cost Crossroads thousands when it should have cost them about $2 in 6 extra screws and 1 minute of time to install it correctly.

Enlarge the pic if you can, only 2 screws. Incredible.
