Dicor Rubber Roof Cleaner:

Thetford also makes a good product, Thetford Rubber Roof Cleaner & Conditioner.

I have used solvit for years. It does a good job, doesn't hurt the roof, and it is a lot cheaper then anything camping world sells.

Many use Dawn dish liquid.

I used the Thetford product on the rubber roof of my previous camper, but the Crossroads has a different material. I have read on here that folks use Spic and Span or Top Job, but I have been unable to find either of these products in local stores. I remember I used to see them in grocery stores, especially Spic and Span. I haven't tried Dawn dishwashing detergent, but I really want to get mine cleaned as well before it gets any colder.

We were told any non-abrasive cleaner will do the job. My husband uses an all-purpose cleaner.

Just wondering, does the run off residue from dichor, thetford, solvit, etc remove or streak the sides requiring trailer to be rewaxed?

Thanks

Amazon has Spic and Span or most Amish general stores carry it.

Great info. But the other question that needs answered................ what sealer do you put on the rubber roof after cleaning it?? When I bought my new one recently, the shop person told me to use a rubber sealer once a year after cleaning. I would assume it is for the UV protection factor. It kind of falls under the same idea that the slide rubber gaskets need cleaned, lubed, and protected from drying and cracking? Any thoughts?? Thanks.

The Thetford is a good product. That is what I use as well. The only reason I suggested Dicor is that a lot of people on here swear by the Dicor products. Thetford is easier to find, most Wal Mart RV sections carry it. I've used it for years and never had any problems with my roofs. I use the Thetford Rubber Roof Cleaner & Conditioner 3 times a year. Also, the question was asked about the sides of the camper: I would suggest rinsing the sides down frequently while you are doing your roof.

Llyod's roof is insane...and the Solvit does work.

I use Dicor or Thetford "treatment" to clean/treat the roof all in one shot. Seems to work well (although my roof will NEVER be as clean as Lloyd's)

I have tried several things to clean my roof. (Brushes) But by far the best thing to use with soapy water is the Magic Eraser pads. You can also buy it in the form of a mop. Which works good to reach across the roof. Caution: It will put fine scratches on surfaces that it should not be used on. (Fiberglass Sides, Transparent Plastics, Etc..)

Spin-N-Span liquid can be found at Menards home improvement stores.

Big company products are way over priced when simple and available products work just as well.

Great to see that someone posted that nothing else is needed but simple cleaning of the roof. NO UV treatment is needed......Just an over priced liquid that smells funny and leads you to believing it's dong any good.....Maybe that's where black streaks come from......

I don't, and wouldn't use either spic n span or Dawn dish soap. I don't like having to re wax the camper after cleaning the roof.
