Getting ready for our first trip out and the rear stabilizer jack motor does not work - will have to use the hand crank until I get time to take it to an RV dealer. I may make and adapter so I can use my cordless drill.

I have power to the motor and the switch checks good. I wiggled the wire to the motor and it started to move then stopped. Re-checked power to the motor and still power (checking at the connector to the switch). The wiring diagram from Lippert shows a 6A auto reset breaker and a 20 amp fuse.

So my question is where is the breaker and fuse?

I purchased the trailer last November and this will be our second time out - all worked well last fall. All of the other items in the trailer are working fine.

If you have power to the motor then the switch and fuse are OK. Had the same problem on our 2011 Cruiser 335, just a defective motor. Thought about the electric drill, but cranking the stabilizers with the hand crank was not bad at all, much faster and easier than I thought it would be. Dealer replaced the motor and switch under warranty.

Had a similar problem with my rear power jack. It would kick out the reset breaker frequently. Took it in to the local dealer, they checked everything out, and ended up just cleaning the screw and putting some type of dry lube on it. It has worked fine ever since. Just something else to check.

Probably just stuck, grab the hand crank and give it a turn or two. Mine does that every so often if it sits up too long. Especially when it's run up against the stop.

Power jack and stabilizers not working

We just purchase a Sunset Trail Reserve 32bh. Went to setup and jack and stabilizers not working. Is there a reset somewhere? Thanks in advance.

The stabilizers have a self resetting breaker located on the trailer frame next to each motor. if the motor is overloaded this will pop and remove power from the motor and you have to wait till it resets. I have had mine not want to come down and pop the breaker just from being stuck. try pulling down on the stabilizers and loosen them up alittle. or try the manual crank on the other side to work them loose.

does your power jack have power? all the things you mentioned so far run direct off the battery. Is your battery charged ? there is also a self resetting breaker for the battery mounted on the front of the trailer frame just behind the battery. if that is bad it will keep battery power from entering the trailer.

My fix was replacing the motor - no problems since. The motor lead was very short and I think it may have become disconnected inside the motor. the replacement was covered under warranty - took 3 weeks to get the new one installed (dealer lost track of the motor order).

For anyone having these problems with motors....take a look how tight the factory pulls the wires and straps them with clamps. Mine were so tight the rubber gasket was cracked, possibly allowing water inside . I loosened the clamp and made a nice smooth curve to the wire and re calked the gasket . This may have been the problem for everyone.

Very curious to hear tackett's fix. It sure sounds like he has no battery power. even his power jack light would not work. Correct me if I'm wrong, but some things will not run off the converter and need the battery because of amp draw, like power jacks, power stabilizers, and slide outs?

Thanks for the replies. It was the auto reset breaker, it didn't reset. They are sending me a new one.
