City water not going in?

I was gone for the weekend, came back and turned on water. I heard an unusual 'blip" noise when I turned the drain valve open just out of habit. The water stream immediately dried up and now water apparently not getting in to lines? Pump and tank supply work fine. I may have left the hot water heater on over the weekend - maybe some kind of vapor lock? No air coming out sink when pump is on. Any ideas? I replaced inlet water valve about 4 months ago due to a leak. Could it have failed again? Appreciate any thought before I start digging around.
Thanks.

Are you hooked up to city water or are you drawing from your fresh water tank??

Hooked up to city water. It acts like it is not going in - hose is not kinked. If I turn on pump and run the tank water, everything works fine. Could it be that pesky check valve again you think? Thanks for asking

Sounds like the check valve. Here is a link to a stainless steel check valve that is serviceable. http://www.rvh2o.com/category/waterinlets.html
plus this other site with replaceable check valve.

Check screen, etc. too - we had a chunk of nastiness clog our filter screen...

If you don't use a filter - at least buy the cheap blue one. Keeps most of the crud out of your camper!

Thumbs up In case you are interested

I took advice from the forum and decided to first check the in-line screen filter. Before I did that though, I stopped by a convenient RV dealer and purchased a new check valve assembly. ($19.58). So I ppopped off the screen filter and noticed that the internal spring of the check valve and its "keeper" had become dislodged - the keeper was in the filter itself and the spring pulled out easily. Figuring that it needed to be re-seated, i just put the spring back in (there was a similar plastic keeper seen centered at the seat of the spring). I pushed the little keeper in until its' edges held the sprring down inside the assembly - the keeper caught and held the spring down at the base of the valve opening. The screen was clear of any debris before replacement.

Reconnecting and turning on the water - I was prepared to just replace the valve again BUT - now it is working fine! So, I have a new brass check valve in case this fails again. In the meantime, I am going to avoid the temptation of turning on the drain valves while the system is pressurized - I think that is what did it!
Thank you all!

What are you referring to as (the drain valves)?
Low point drain?
