The story i got from 3 dealers and 2 guys at Crossroads is that a ladder cannot be installed on the Sunset Trail and Reserve because #1..the roofs are to thin to walk on except for maintenance (walking every 16"centers) and # 2 ...the walls are hung and there is no support there.
I took 70" of a part of an extension ladder and put brackets on the frame underneath the unit from left to right just before the tires and hung it from there ,with safety clips just in case. Out of the way and easy to get at and being aluminum ...very light .

We just bought a zinger zt28bh from camping world Akron and the salesman called crossroads and said the supports are in the back wall from factory it was no problem to add and would not void warranty

That's great news, but I'm afraid it's contrary to what others have been told????????
Maybe they have changed the construction recently???
Anyway I would encourage you to get it in writing, just in case there is a problem down the road.

Zingers are wood framed...may make a difference.

Is there an option on S.T. like there is for Zinger? If not, then I doubt there is any backing.

I don't think you can do this on a st from what I've read on this site the zinger we bought does have the backing and a 3/8 walkable roof I would call and ask for a print on your trailor they will want a serial number for the trailor hope it helps facts matter!!!!!!
