That would be nice but outta of my price range right now too! I live out in the woods too so I can do whatever.

Seems like most or responded are keeping their rigs close to home or at their home. One of my thoughts was to keep it at campground that was kind of far away.
Do you all check on your rigs throughout the winter or pretty much leave them alone until spring?

When mine was in storage over the past years I would check on it for two reasons. First to check the security of the trailer but next to check for any leaks. I have always had hit and miss leak on the bedroom slide no matter what I do or seal so I always like to check that too. That being said I am sure there are people like you that store away from home. Hopefully you can ensure that the camp ground makes daily checks on the stored units parked on campsites.

With the problems that some have with leaks, I would be very uneasy about leaving it somewhere uncovered and unable to check on it. Mine is in my driveway and I check on it after every heavy rain. I have been fortunate with no leaks but check anyway.

You asked! My heated, mouse proof shop - 68 degrees - RV power plug - can be used as a bunkhouse for extra guests if necessary - all slides can be opened while inside. Full bath in shop for facilities so the trailer doesn't have to be used for a bathroom. (I have to switch in and out to 14" wheels and tires to back it through the 12' door - But it fits!)

We leave trailer on-site at campgound for the winter. Only costs us $60 for whole winter, and it is already level and ready in spring.

I check on it 1 or 2 times, depending on weather severity. Our campground is 25-30 minutes away, and I must walk back to it.

My thoughts, besides cost, are that it may be more secure at campground. People tend to hit storage lots due to close proximity of many units.

I would like to have a pole barn to cover our baby. We store it in the back yard close to a 30 amp power outlet. This way we can turn on the fire place / heater to keep it warm on the inside.

I do when we camp in the fall. My theory is it helps keep some of the heat from escaping.

That's all I used before I built the shop - and tire covers.
