We like Buckhorn in Kerrville Nice place with lots to do in the area. There are six or seven campgrounds in that area. Of course you need to start at the LGCC metting the 19th thru the 21St in Breaux Bridge Louisiana

Texas is a big state, what area and what type of campground are you looking for. Do you like Rv parks or state parks and do you like camping at Lakes for Fishing

Not sure what were looking for, just warmer weather then what it will be in Central Illinois. Open to anything really.

That campground looks really nice, thanks for the info, Do you know what the temps would be like in that area for that time of year. Like I said we are looking at the last week of March.

The hill country should be really nice at that time of year. Usually lots of wild flowers and plenty of things to see and do. I second Frank's suggestion of Buckhorn at Kerrville. We also like to stay at the Peach Country RV Park in Stonewall. That is just east of Fredericksburg. It is an easy drive from there to the Lyndon B. Johnson State Park and Texas White House, shopping in Fredericksburg and if you like wine there are lots of wineries in the area. Austin and San Antonio are easy drives from there as well.

If your looking to stay in North Texas (Dallas Fort Worth area) I have a few state park recommendations.
Eisenhower- This one is on Lake Texoma on the Texas Oklahoma boarder. I haven't been here since I was a kid and we tent camped so I cant honestly recommend this place for an RV
Fort Richardson State Park and Historic Site- This place is on our short list to check out. Its part of an old post Civil War fort/armory/settlement out post and they have some reenactments and several of the old buildings to look at and other things to see and do.
Three State Parks on Lake Ray Roberts- One of my favorite places to bass fish but again no first hand experience on the RV aspect of it, tent camping only.
Dinosaur Valley- This one is in a town called Glen Rose. There are lots and lots of dinosaur tracks that you can see in the ground. Once again, sorry to say I have not been here yet with the TT but we plan on this being one of our next trips very soon.
Weather in March you should find pleasant. Its a cooler month (for us) but an occasional hot day is always possible and so is a cold day. (that really helps don't it? Now that I reread all this I don't have anything to really add to this thread...)
I can say the suggestions of central Texas is also on our list of places to go an see (Fredericksburg etc.).
San Antonio is a great city with lots of things to do. Make sure you go to the Alamo and River Walk.
Before you go to far south, stop in Fort Worth and see the Stock Yards and then walk around downtown in Sundance Square . (be forewarned, don't try to go to these with your 5'er, drop it off and take the truck only)

Chris,
Linda and I are currently in Weslaco, TX, the Rio Grande Valley for the winter. Coming here we stayed at The Vineyards, in Grapevine, just outside of Dallas. A wonderful campground on Grapevine Lake, a bit pricey. We then stayed at Medina Lake, near San Antonio, the lake is dried up and it was depressing. From there we stopped at Corpus Christi, Sea Breeze, right on the ocean, and a very nice place. It is not far from Port Aransas and Padre Island and we will probably stay there longer on our way back north next spring. If you'd like any more information PM me and I'll give you all I have.
Travel well, travel safe,
Jim

I'll 2nd The Vineyards in Grapevine, we stayed there this past July. They have all sorts of activities at the campground, live bands, wine tasting and my personal favorite... Krispy Kreme Donuts on Sunday mornings. The historic area is only a couple of miles away, didn't get down there but it is close. Bass Pro Shop is near as well. If you like to fish, they have that too.
Here's a link to their site: http://vineyardscampground.com/
Happy trails!
