CR problems

It amazing to me how everybody is Amazed! with CR products problems. It not just CR products it the whole RV industry that has varying problems with every manufacturer. All you have to do is do a simple search on any RV manufacturer and the good the bad and the hoarded stories will behold you.
If people would not go blindly in the purchasing of a RV and ask the questions of other RV owners and read forums of other SOB'S a wealth of knowledge would be gained in help with that big purchase. This goes for buying your RV, they also have the good and bad one's too in my opinion mostly bad. Sorry for the rant and not to pick on any one.

LeBo, you are correct that a Google search on any manufacturer will provide good, bad, ugly stories across the board. The issue for those of us complaining though is the Manufacturers not standing behind their defective products because of lousy warranties that occur industry wide.

I know everyone wants to love their trailers and some don't have any of these issues, but that isn't the case with all of us. These forums are for sharing of information both good and bad alike. I don't come here to just rant and say CR sucks, i come to see what others are experiencing and to find solutions.

This issue is not something we did to ourselves, this is a manufacturer defect...the chocolate color paint/gel coat sucks period! It is a known problem and CR knows it and even changed their designs to keep them from getting complaints. Still, that doesn't fix the problem that on barely used 3 yr old trailers we are stuck either driving around with a trailer that looks like we don't take care of (destroys resale) or shellout big $ to fix it.

That said, the info about using automotive paint is great idea since the UV protectants don't do diddly on the dark front caps.

There is a fairly inexpensive solution to the faded caps. Here's the website for a restoration product that got good reviews. Products To Restore and Protect Oxidized Surfaces

Mark, did you use this product on your Patriot? If so, did it restore the original colour or just the shine? Any other members use it?

I have not used it, but it was recommended by my son, an auto-body technician. He said it was presented to him at his training classes. Had very satisfactory results. Unfortunately, he is not involved in auto-body anymore and has not seen the long term results of the product.

Looks good. I can't tell from the angle, is it a black or brown color?

Did you take it to some one or did they come to you? If you don't mind my asking, what did they charge to do it? I want to get the lower part of the front of my 5th wheel to cover the rock chips.

I took it to them. It was $1500.00. Worth every penny, now I don't have to worry about fading or waxing it. They should be made this way.

I have LINE X in the bed of my truck...Really great system, much better than Rino I think...Very even application...The bad news for you is eventually the Line X is going to fade also...
