Roaddog, I can't make heads or tails out of your picture. I think there is more then one, but they all run together for me.
You probably know what they are, but I don't. Sorry, not trying to be critical, just saing it the way I don't see it.

Pics were not rotated to right. That is a bummer Roaddog. Under warranty?

That looks like how mine would end up if left unaddressed.

Sorry guys I tried to rotate the pics but it won't change the orientation on this site. Basically on the right edge (facing front of trailer) the seam appears to be cracking/pulling apart and an indent that formed is starting to crack. On the left there's some bubbling or waviness in the face/cap. I don't have any leaks that I can see which is a plus.

The dent with the crack looks like it may have been hit, Where do you store your trailer? could have been an accident or an act of vandalism, but thats what it looks like to me, then water entered that spot and caused the delamination issue (spongy, soft to the touch). JMHO

That dent was there the day I picked it up. I had them photograph and notify CR I case it became an issue. There are a couple spots that flex when you touch them but nothing is spongy so to speak. I'm calling the dealer today. Bought it the end of last June so it better be warranty work. We haverour first trip scheduled Memorial Day weekend.

Good thing you documented it, looks like it may have become an issue.

Called dealer today to file a warranty claim. They service manager said he looked in my file and said there's a place they download photos to CR, but of course he didn't see anything about mine in there. I'm giving them a few days to see what CR says, but if the dealer tries to deny it was there prior to delivery then they are going to be in for a war.

Also the dent had no impact marks and it seems to be more of a fold or crease like if you put a piece of paper on a table and pushed to corners towards each other. There also seems to be another one starting on the other side (see pic).

edit: Sorry can't figure out why pics keep turning sideways. They are correct orientation on my phone.

Would I be better contacting CR myself or letting the dealer do it?

I love my trailer just hope this doesn't sour my CR experience.

Since they have your trailer, give them the opportunity to respond to you with a remediating the issue.

Did the dealer give you a timeline to get back to you?

It's been over week, call CR next week if you've not gotten anywhere. I found RV'ers are usually trustworthy, patient, kind people. Some dealerships translate that to gullible and take full advantage of that.

Keep the heat on them. There are multiple stories on this forum of people waiting weeks and even months to get their trailer back.

Do you have paperwork from the walkthrough noting you were taking possession of the trailer and the damage was noted?

As an aside,

Looks like an fixable issue if they clear the dealer to replace the cap piece under warranty.

Great news my dealer called today and CR approved the repairs. They ordered the parts and will replace the front cap the first week of May. Just in time for us to make our 1st scheduled camping trip of the season. I also asked about the fading wheel well caps and he said to send him pics and they'll try to get that approved as well. It's wonderful when people & companies come thru in a pinch.

Thanks all for the replies and helpful advice. I'll add some updated pics once it's all fixed.

Great News RoadDog66,

I was thinking about you guys and thought I'd check the forum this morning. I'm glad to hear the dealer is coming through to get your trailer quickly. Yes, Crossroads is good to deal with on issues overall. I know some folks have had major issues on this forum especially on some of those big dollar 5vers, but most of the time things seem to get settled quickly.

That just shows crossroads workmanship. Very shorty. Bad work and they let it leave like that...

How do you know it left the factory like that? Being out in the sun causes the fiberglass to heat up and sometime deform. By the way. Front caps are made by an independent fiberglass manufacturer. Many use a company called R&M Fiberglass. Not sure who makes Crossroads caps though. Also, I find that the fading of the caps and other fiberglass parts is a industry wide problems. Checked out a few other Rv forums and see many complaints about this.

It is at the dealer and I talked to my service advisor yesterday who told me they suddenly got busy and haven't touched it yet. I reminded him that he has my camper and time is short. He says he'll contact me by weeks end. I wonder if they are working in the service department on Good Friday??

In the meantime I decided to drown my sorrows in the purchase of a new tow vehicle. 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD LTZ Crew Cab with the Duramax and Allison.
