New ST 33BD

My family just purchased a new 2014 ST33BD from Sonny's Camp and Travel in SC. I will be pulling with a new 2013 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD. My kids are very excited about the first trip we have planned in two weeks.

We are new to RV'ing. Can anyone offer suggestions for bedding for the rear bunks? We have (2) 38 x 74 and (1) 28 x 74 bunks.

What about bed rails to keep little ones from rolling out? The mattresses seem a little thin to comfortably accommodate a standard bed rail support bar.

I would use twin (39 x 75) bedding for the bunks. I can't help with the bed rails.

If it was me though I would order some Radio Flyer Wagon side rails and mount them on the bunk and they are easily removable.

Firstly...WELCOME!

Great unit you got there. super light and tons of room!

Been there when the boys were little and we had a hybrid with a bunk house.

The mattress they put in these units are a bit shy of being comfortable, even for kids.

Here's the route we went...

Amazon.

39 x 75 memory foam 4" mattress Topper $94
http://www.amazon.com/Best-Price-Mat...attress+topper

Rails $32
http://www.amazon.com/Regalo-Hide-Aw...ords=bed+rails

$266 out the door. bam..done, shipped to your front door...trim off 10 inches on the the one mattress..

Here's how-->

Congratulations and welcome to forum! As for sheets for the bunks, we've always just used bedding for a twin mattress. It is a little too big, but it works.

you should be fine using twin sheets. I put a memory foam topper on my DD's bunk to help make it more comfortable for her.

some good options at this site

bed rails didn't work for my dd so I put her in bottom bunk and used dinette cushions on floor to cushion fall

I had to use the rails. The only thing to break their fall was my 10 year old lab.

Yes, the rails don't work unless there is enough mattress weight to keep them steady.
