Sparked up the snowblower and burnt a couple tanks of fuel moving snow out of the way yesterday. It was about 3 feet deep from the Seville all the way to the road. Got it down to ice, about 2" thick most places now. I know we have a few more snow storms yet, but the wife and I are getting anxious... Soon the snowmobile will be put away, and we will be hooking up and heading south! May 1 we leave for Moab, UT for a week. Then over to St George UT for another 3 weeks. Then make our way home. With everything we have planned this year, we should get another 70 nights or so.

Can't wait!

Snow?? What is that? We had less than a dusting this year. It was 72 degrees today. I'm worried about the fleas, ticks and other bugs this year since there was no real winter in the south to kill them off. We head out for our 1st trip of the year in 2 weeks.

Lenny, you guys have more snow then we do. 4 1/2 hours north and nothing. The river just froze in February and is already breaking up. It was pouring rain last night and I was thinking it looks like spring, but like you say more snow most likely. I keep looking over at the Seville and want to go camping. Can hardly wait.

I am ashamed to say that here in Minnesota it was a mild winter. That would be an understatement actually.
I think I ran the snow blower once,,,even then for a few inches only.
Mid 50's today with a forcast of 70's.

I use to be proud to say I lived in Minnesota, now I feel like a wimp!

Plus it was a lousy winter to buy my boys their first snowmobile...Oh well, there is always next winter. I shouldn't talk too soon though, we have been dumped on in April in the past.

With temperatures forecasted near 80 tomorrow, it is difficult not to de-winterize....but I will give it another two weeks...maybe...

Been about 0 to 10 C as a high here in Ottawa for the past week. All the snow is almost gone. Started the de- winterizing since I am leaving for Orlando for a month on Saturday. Found a gas valve incorrectly installed on my new 2012 335SS. See my new post in the cruiser section.

Well....part one of de-winterization is complete. Flushed pink stuff, sanitized the lines, tested the air conditioner, water heater. The only bummer was the water pump started to leak under load. Checked all connections and they were good. Oh-well, I have been wanting to upgrade to the 4.0 gpm version anyway....lets see what else camping world has on sale today.... Tomorrow might include a wash and fresh coat of wax.....

Snow melted pretty good here, so the other morning I got our trailer out of the yard while the ground was still frozen. Took it to my local RV dealer. Got bearings repacked, brakes redone, AC checked over. Now our 5er is sitting in their lot, waiting. This spring I am finally getting a gravel pad to park on. No more ruts! The countdown to our first trip of the year is going ever so slowly, we are ready to go now!

April 30th we head out....

Snow is finally gone here also. We are bringing it down to Spruce Grove for maintenance in a week and a half. Then back home and my husband will be living in it for a month while he works. Property will be up for sale here and hopefully we will be living in it down in Stony Plain. No real camping for us this year. Happy Camping to you and safe travels.

;od thing I de-winterized today and didn't wait any longer. Filled thefresh watertank to flush the anti-freeze and all went well. Went to disinfect the fresh water tank and noticed water leaking under the unit. Upon further investigation I noticed there was no "cap" on the fresh water tank outlet...so water kept coming out. I sure hope my dealer has spare one's as we're scheduled to take the 2 grandson's boondocking this Wednesday I would think they would find a way to attach these so they don't just "fall off" LOL

De winterizing just about complete.
Pink stuff gone, tank disinfected, now just neutralizing with vinegar. Going out now to drain and the final flush, then put some water in for the trip and put the ol girl back in the shed.
Suppose to get down in the middle 20s tonight. Might have to consider a little heat.

I dump in some where around 1-2 qt. I'm not real fussy. (white vinegar). If they are still positioning the drain in the same place on the side of the tank, you have to realize you aren't going to get your tank emptied completely. I would recommend flushing a few times before the vinegar. When we first got this rig I didn't realize how high up the drain was, ended up with some nasty water that first trip. Since then I have modified my suction tube so I can get the tank closer to empty.
