The DW and I finished loading our new 34SS today...hooked up the fifth wheel, was getting ready to put the slides in and the BR slide wouldn't move. Checked the fuse box first and sure enough a red light. Got a new 15A fuse and it blew within 5 seconds...put a 3rd in...blew again. Called my dealer...he said to put a bigger fuse in just to get the slide in and bring it back in the morning and he'd fix it. I have a good dealer mind you. So, I put a 25A in there and the light stayed out...the minute I pushed the button to bring the slide in she blew again. I called him back...understand he's a good guy so I'm not upset in the least yet. He told me to put some heavy wire in the fuse block just to get the slide in and then pull the wire out. I had insulated pliers and I disconnected the battery and tripled up a HD paper clip. Plugged the battery back in, light was out...pushed on the slide button and she melted the wire...in 2 seconds flat. Disconnected the battery and called him back...and I said, tell he how to get them in manually and I'll bring it down in the morning. He said to me "no, stay where you are and I'll be there at 8 in the morning and we'll get this fixed right!" Okay, it's not fixed yet, but I'm not angry or out of sorts either. He is driving 60 miles one way to take care of me. That's why I bought my second unit from him. I will post what the problem is when he finds it...more than likely we're thinking there is a bare wire touching somewhere...who knows...I'm not an electrician.

Final update, dealer came, scoped everything out...in the end it was a screw in the door frame touching a wire...reinsulated it, covered it all up and all is well. I love my dealer...Camper-Corral in Oregon, WI, Randy and Kelly Rygh...stand behind what they sell. Oh, my 2012 28RKX I traded in was sold last week, less than 2 weeks after we traded it to them.

did your slide get fixed. I had the same issue and I think it is now fixed. We should compare solutions and make sure we do not have a bigger problem waiting to surface.

We have put money down on a new 2013 Elevation 3912...I am concerned that Crossroads has too many issues to follow through with this sale. Should we back out now and shop for a different RV? It doesn't appear that Crossroads' Customer Service is very good. Can anyone provide feedback?

eirrehs, Crossroads has taken care of all of our issues. These were problems from the original supplier so we could not hold Crossroads accountable except to fix it. We would buy another unit from them. Having read issues on other websites, I see that a lot of manufacturers have problems and do not take care of them.

I would suggest that you read what others in the Elevation section have to say. Also, contact them for their opinions. Just remember, most people are quick to be critical but seldom offer praise - human nature.

Good luck.

Well, we bought it! 2013 Elevation 3912! Here's hoping it's not a lemon, but already the slide would not work! And the electric stabilizer didn't work. Ugh! Thanks for your feedback!

Did you get a thorough walk through with the dealer? Called Pre Delivery Inspection = PDI. You should immediately document everything to the dealer. If you need any Crossroads numbers or names, we will be happy to supply.

We are doing the PDI next week. Those two things we noticed during the initial walk through. We were told that we have to buy it before doing the PDI. So who knows what else is wrong. I'm hoping that is all.
We still have to sell our old trailer (2008 Jayco Jayflight Bunkhouse). The salesman really didn't want us to trade it in (we could tell), plus he was only offering 70% of the NADA. I am hoping that sells quick. We have it on Craigslist now. Anyone know of another place to advertise it?

Where do you live and who is your dealer?

This is from the Owner's Manual:

Inspection
To assist you in avoiding problems, CrossRoads RV Company requests
that each dealer review the limited warranty and inspect the unit along
with you. The dealer has been provided with a pre-delivery checklist.
Review this checklist with the dealer. Do not sign the checklist until
this review is complete and any questions about anything you do not
understand have been answered.

Here is a link to a PDI on the web that you might find helpful. I wish we had asked more questions during the PDI.

Ebay is a good option.

Sherrie, we were in the Cedar Park area last year this time. We took the Austin Steam train to Burnett. It was really nice.

I'm glad you got to come here! We love Cedar Park, but have yet to ride the train! Soon we will though. Was that the only reason you came here?
Beamer5 - I am going to try eBay today. Although I have never sold anything on there before.

In my opinion, ebay "use" to be a good place to buy and sell. Not any more.
Before you list, check it out as to how much it will cost you if and when you sell your unit. It might be quite a shock.

Sherrie, we have family in the Hill Country - Bulverde. I have lived in Texas 3 times and would come back in a heart beat but we have elderly family that keeps us here for the time being.

If you are selling, try Craigslist. But I agree with Lloyd on the cost. Most ads on ebay are from dealers so you could get the info and call them directly.

Another option is rvtrader.com It cost about $15 for two weeks and includes 4 photos. There are other options available for a longer posting time but of course it will cost more. Good luck.

There is also a Classified thread here on the forum.

Update - our new trailer has to have the entire slide motor replaced! I guess we get to see first hand how fast Crossroads responds! They tell us it could be 1-3 weeks!
