While enjoying the beautiful weather TS Andrea is providing us in the OBX this morning, I awoke to a dreaded "drip, drip, drip" noise coming from the shower stall. I found water dripping from the shower skylight. Removing the inner trim piece revealed a half-inch crack in the edge of the outer dome, likely from anover tightened fastener. I had just been up on the roof two days ago to inspect for such issues, before hitting the road, but my focus was looking for caulking issues not cracked plastic. Luckily I packed a caulk gun, so as soon as it quits raining I'll seal the crack until I can get the dome replaced.

Food for thought for your next trip to the roof.

I have the same problem with my TT. I don't know how long it's been doing this. Do you think you have any other damage due to the water getting in?

I think I have caught it before any damage hasoccurred. There is no sign of structural damage or even mold with the inside trim ring removed. The only thing I see that may have been caused by the leak is the membrane is no longer tight to the roof directly below the skylight to the roof's edge. As it turned out, when the storm finally let up and I could get on the roof to check out the skylight, there were three more cracks in the skylight dome that weren't evident from the interior. I sealed them all up with caulk for the time being.

FYI- forest river just had a recall in feb for cracked skylights. in that case they were looking for a spider web type crack in the skylight. No info on the skylight manufacturer etc. Hust wondering if you guys are onto a similar issue for crossroads? Here is a link to the thread on forest river forums.Edited by: anaro

Same thing on my trailer. Corner crack developed think from over tightening. Anyone have a link to the replacement cover or part number?

Just had ours replaced under warranty, it started leaking on the second day of our two month vacation so Ken just put a bunch of silicone on it and we had it replaced when we returned.

No problems. They do a great job at Rick Bakers RV in Green Cove Springs.

We have the same problem on our new 32RL. water dripping around the edge of the skylight trim into the shower. They told me not to walk on the roof, so how do you get up there to investigate, just crawl up a ladder and lean over the roof ? I guess I'll just caulk it up like everyone else until I can get back to the dealer. Our dealers will not let you drop off or pickup on Saturday or Sunday for service. Is this standard or just a stupid dealer ?
