replace/repair powered tongue jack
Yep, was leaving campground and having trouble hitching up because the site was so un-level. Nevertheless, I left my tongue jack down too far and bent the lower 4 inches..Too ashamed to post pictures..Total newbie mistake for someone that's been rv'ing for 10 years.
I have a two part question..I am assuming that the stress weakened the jack and I can't have it bent back at my buddies car repair shop (combination heat and straightening). First question, anyone ever repair their jack (bend back)?
If not, what is the best replacement. I researched the manufacturer page for my Stromberg Carslon (LCI) and only ancillary parts are replacement (light, switches, case), nothing in the main lift. Also, the reviews on this jack are far from complimentary..bad customer service, no serviceable parts..
So...Got me thinking if I can do this screw-up once, I can certainly bank that I can or will bend it again.
Anyone have recommendations are a good jack that has fully serviceable parts?
I was looking Barker, 50% more in cost, but two year warranty and the schematic on their webpage shows every part replaceable.
