Is ANYONE happy with this Toy Hauler??

We are looking at the 3612 to tow with our Ram 2500 Diesel , and all I read about this product are problems. I love weights on the shorter length of these TH'ers, and finish, but scared it will be a problem. I do realize EVERY RV out there has had problems....but not finding any good reviews on the Elevations. Thanks, Cindy

Find a good dealer with great service dept and do a meticulous PDI and that will take care of most issues. On a unit like that I mean an all day pdi running all systems many times and for a good period of time. Maybe stay overnight at the dealership or close by. All rv's have some issues.

I have had our 3612 for 20 months now. No major problems, some small things I just fixed myself.

A good PDI is the only real solution to problems. I was fortunate enough to have joined this forum prior to signing the paperwork on ours. One member here sent me a 3 page PDI checklist to use and I was able to solve almost every issue there was PRIOR to leaving the dealer. We bought ours in May of last year (not a TH'er) and have had no major issues. In fact the only problem we've had is the rear stabilizer switch corroding and having to replace it. DO THE PDI as everyone has suggested. Don't feel timid and just look at a system...OPERATE it! It's your hard earned money and any GOOD dealer will make everything right before you leave! I can't stress enough how important the PDI is!

Also don't sign anything until your PDI is done and everything is taken care of.

We tow a new 3912 with a RAM 2500 Diesel. I did put airbags on the back and I do have the Trail Air King Pin (with air bags).

Just got back from a week in VA and DC. We really like the 3912. Plenty of room.

That said, I know you asked about the 3612, but the two aren't that different.

Remember, please love to vent and "warn" on Forums.

I have the 3612 and tow with a Ram 2500 diesel, 2005. The 3612 tows extremely well, using a Reese R16 hitch and air bags on the rear axle. It is stable and does not wander even when trucks pass.
I spent a whole day exploring my camper before buying and didn't get to try everything because there is so much stuff! The dealer hired a hauler to put the TH in my driveway so I didn't have PDI. Make sure everything works, especially, like me, if you are hundreds of miles from your dealer. The dealer could not tell me how the wifi worked or what all the TV cable connections were for. Told me they were waiting on the manufacturer for info and never got back to me. I found wifi instruction videos on you tube and cable info on this forum. I spent a lot of time fixing small stuff myself, and found that this manufacturer is no different than any other - these things are good materials and are assembled in a hurry so assembly quality seems a bit poor. Had fit and finish issues, many missing fasteners, gaps that were water leaks, items incorrectly installed, all fixed by myself. The 3612 is comfortable and full of features and we like using it. Have not had slide issues so far, and I bought extended warranty just in case. I like the aluminum frame construction, disappointed that I have to disassemble the storage compartment and crawl inside to bypass the water heater for winter, and just had to pull the furnace from inside the compartment for repair (rather than take to dealer.)
All units have issues, we really like our 3612 and believe we have overcome small things that could have been corrected through PDI. I do think it is a good value for the cost. I have friends that work for another manufacturer that really like my hauler, and tell their own stories about their job and assembly shortcuts to save money. I don't see any like ours on the road, and we traveled quite a bit so far.
Good luck to you.
Denny

Forgive me for being ignorant... Please tell me what is the "PDI" you speak of BEFORE signing or driving off the lot?

What type of problems did you have to fix on the Elevation 3612?

Mollymist, there are several good sites on the internet that will give you various versions of the PDI Checklist. Since you are getting a toy hauler, this might be a good site to check out: http://www.toyhauleradventures.com/2...ler-toyhauler/

Good luck. BTW, ask away and we will all try to help. That is why we are all on the forum - sharing ideas, mishaps, adventures, etc.
