Well folks, time to begin living. Just retired and ready to hit the road in our Rushmore. First stop, South Florida. Leaving ASAP after the New Year.

Congrats! I retired at the end of March of this year, and today was DW's last day of work. We won't full time it, but plan to do a lot of camping. Already have a 9 day trip in January planned, and 20+ days in May/June.

Was just playing with some numbers while I am here at work and I am eligible in just 14 more years! Id be willing to bet I will be here long after that but hard to believe I am more than past the half way point if I wanted to be....

Congratulations! I wish you good health and may you collect more pension checks than paychecks. Bring some cool weather when you come down.

Congratulations and enjoy! Our retirement dream was to buy a truck and fifth wheel, travel and spend the winters in Florida. For the past six years, since I retired, we have been doing just that and having a blast! I pity those friends of ours who are not into RVing and spend a lot of time at home twiddling their thumbs.

We retire July 1. Looking forward with great anticipation. We too won't be full-timers but plan to go camping a lot more locally with our boat and also taking longer trips. If we are somewhere and things are great, we'll have the freedom to stay longer. If we decide we want to take a side trip to another location, we'll be able to do so. So excited!

Even tho every one looks forward to the day they can throw in the towel and retire, don't get to drawn up into looking ahead to far to fast. Those last few years of being employed and working can be very rewarding.

With that being said, I must admit, I thoroughly enjoy being retired.
