sticking slideout seal

Since new I have had to climb up on our cruiser when putting out the slide out to pull part of the slideout wiper on top out from it sticking and part of the edge is still curled inside. A guy at the campground showed me how he solved his problem by sticking 3M 7736NA saftey walk medium duty tread 1" wide, the kind that is not too rough for bare feet to the entire width of his slideout on top half way between wall of rv and outer wall of slideout. It causes enough friction to pull wiper out straight. I did it to ours and it works perfect. Its not too rough to damage the edge of wiper. Sorry if my explanation is not clear, I could not think of any other way to describe it.
