I too have heard Seafoam is a no-no ... but since I've not had a need to do anything like that, didn't pay attention as to why not...

I don't know how sea foam is in a diesel engine, but I do know it's way superior to stabil for gasoline.

I have used stabil for years in all my small engines. Never had an issue. It works. Just filled up 4 gas cans treated with stabil yesterday.

I didn't say it didn't work. I said sea foam was superior to it in gasoline. It seems to hold the gas longer then stabil. I've had issues in the past with stabil.

BTW... Like your truck, looks familiar.

I'm changing the oil and fuel filter this weekend. Thought about trying Seafoam. Anyone ever used it?
Its called Lucas upper cylinder lubricant with injector cleaners and fuel conditioner. 3oz per 10 gallons of fuel. I haven't used Seafoam in my truck, but I do use it in my gas for the generator, mower and other gas powered tools. I have always heard good things about it. I have read on some forums where some guys will use it when they change the fuel filter on the truck and fill up the canister that the filter sits in.

I'll give the Lucas a try this week before changing the oil on Saturday and let you know what results I see. I bought the truck used back in May with 42k on it and this is my first oil, filter, fuel filter and differential fluid change. Should be fun!
I've been doing a lot of reading on forums, websites and youtube videos... Seems there are so many different opions it all really comes down to what each person feels comfortable putting in these $15K engines.

Stanadyne

STANADYNE is what we continue to use. http://www.stanadyne.com/docs/puba/99625%20PF%20poster.pdf
Last year while we were pumping fuel and adding Stanadyne we spoke with the man at the next pump doing the same. He maintains hundreds of diesel engines at his work in Wyoming. According to him all of those engines get fuel additive because they need the added lubricity now reduced in low sulfur diesel fuel at the pump. I am going with what this hard working man had to say.
Unfortunately, no amount of additive will help you if you pump BAD fuel into your tank. The cost can be a new fuel filter and a set of injectors at $380.00 each ($3,000.00 with labor and diagnostics). Ouch!

nor the PowerStroke forum. It did quite well on my 5.4L gas f150, though.

Seafoam has been my Poison of choice in all my motors for almost 6 years now. We use it as a fuel stablilizer in our gens at work, and I figure if it's good enough for all of Boeings vehicles and motors, it's good for me!

Yeah, same here, that and I am deathly allergic to cut grass. Can't be outside at all while she's mowing. Makes it a real trial when it's time to refill the hay barn.....

She only had to see my reaction after mowing the lawn once...Then she said "Buy me a Riding Mower"....Whatever works, I wanted a Rock Garden, instead of grass.
