Picked up my ST25RB from storage yesterday to get ready for a few days away. Towed it homeonly to have the power tongue jack non-operational (it had worked when I hooked up at the storage location!) No signs of life at all - even the light is non-operational. It appeared to be jammed solid as the hand crank wouldn't shift it. Eventually, after shaking the foot as hard asI could the hand crank worked and I was able to unhook my truck, but still no sign of life from the motor. I can't find a blown fuse in the fuse panel at the back of the trailer - any ideas? Are there fuses somewhere else? The battery is charged and fine, the stabilizer jacks are working as they should. Thanks!

Follow the power lead back from the jack and see if you don't find a self resetting circuit breaker inline. Especially if the jack is an add-on.

I had the same problem, it turned out to be a clutch. It failed after only 3 uses. Lippert covered all parts and labor. They replaced the whole unit.

Thanks - I traced the red power lead and found the in-line fuse, replaced it and all is good for now. I've got spare fuses in case it blows again!

Also did you know that little silver 2 inch piece of metal is used for the jack to release the brake on the electric jack when the power isn't functioning? I didn't know what it was for when i bought my sunset until battery ran out and had to use it manually. Couldn't even use the hand crank until i remembered the silver thing was used to release the break at the bottom of the motor attached to the jack.

Where exactly did you locate that in-line fuse? Did you have to get into & inside membrane cover at bottom of trailer? We also have a 2012 ST25RB....and I'm always a bit paranoid about things that stop working just before you go away or while you're away. Good to know these small details "just in case"! This forum invaluable for member tips!

Happy camping!

There should be a single wire from the electric jack motor leading to the battery (if you have an after market electric jack) and there is a fuse right on the wire, usually close or in the battery box. I have a little circuit breaker installed so I wouldnt have to replace the fuse.

I'm confused......My power jack was part of the "package" right from Crossroads. Would it wire the same as an aftermarket power jack , or does it go to the "main" fuse panel.....thru the in-line fuse. I have the same trailer as slloyd (ST25RB). I was curious where slloyd found the inline fuse. Edited by: Tonemeister

It's similar to factory powerjack. The fuse should be in the junction box just behind the battery, attached to the frame.

I have a 30re and my fuse is along the frame on the door side just behind the battery. It is right on the wire from the jack.

I have a 30RE and my power jack was extended to the point it makes a ratchet sound but when I try to lower it, it also makes the same sound and it doesn't lower, I am trying to figure out how to manually lower this and all other power functions like awning slide and jack stands but did not find anything in the papers that came with the unit. Any suggestions ?

On power jack there should be an opening at top with a plastic

cap that you slide an included crank handle into (mine was stored

In outside accessible compartment).

As for the stabilizer jacks...if the motors fail, the same included

crank handle has to be slipped into outer nut (door side) to raise

or lower stabilizer jacks (one of mine actually seized (front stabilizer)

and had to actually remove motor on opposite side before I could

actually operate jack manually.

The power awning should have come with a "strap" (included in

manuals set/bag on my unit) which you must hook into awning

channel to slowly hold onto awning after physically dislocating

awning motor (front of trailer). My ST25RB came with the notes

for operating awning in case of motor failure. You can probaly

search A&E awnings or Dometic web site for the info or

if you didn' t get one. Hope this helped! Happy trails ahead!Edited by: Tonemeister

If your jack was held, powered against the ratchet sound and no longer works, then you sheered the pin. The motors are slow but high tork and if you over extend or over retract they sheer the pin.

The power jack on my 25RB will pop the in-line fuse every time if you extend it all the way to the highest it will go. Dealer mechanic told me that they are all that way. You just replace the 50A automotive fuse and you are good to go.

Funny, my dealer said they sheer the pins....All I know is why don't they have some sort of limiter so you cant over retract or over extend?????

When I replace it , I will put a mark on the leg so that I can't go past that. I can't believe that would do that, I just bought the trailer.

Ours went the very first time we used it. Thank goodness for warranty. We`ve used our trailer a total of 6 times and the tongue jack now has been replaced 3 times.

This post is really old but hoping someone reads this.

We have a 2014 ST300BH. Anyone by any chance have a picture of where the fuse is located and what type it is?

The jack went out on me this last weekend and we left it where it was parked. Am hoping to take the correct fuse with me but since I can't look at mine, maybe someone here has their's closer to them and can take a pic. Any help is much appreciated!

Don't have the pic but do have the same trailer. It is an inline fuse in the wire between the battery and jack that runs along the tongue rail.
