Wall or Wallpaper Issue ??

Hi Everyone,

I was curious if anyone here has had this issue with their Zinger ? Mine is a 2013 31SB. I called the dealership and service manager said they have had a bunch do the same thing but he wouldn't really tell me more.. I've been waiting 2 months for this to be fixed.. So, tomorrow i'm off to the dealer for a face to face conversation. Sorry about the little rant at the end.

Were the bumps there when you bought the camper.?? It looks as though there is debris between the panel and wall paper...I would say manufacturer defect... Easy fix the dealer need to replace that panel...

It looks like a rash to me.

Did it just happen or was it always like that? If there is debris, wouldn't it have been there from the beginning? I wonder if it is water damage. Check the sealant on the outside to see if there are any cracks or just lack of sealant.

Those bumps are water damage from a leak under that window.

The bumps are water that has soaked into the wallboard and is trying to come out.

You need to reseal that window ASAP.

If it were mine I'd pull the entire window out and reseal it rather than putting more caulk around it.

Easy to find out if it is debris. Take a razor blade and cut a small slit over one of the bumps to see what is under the paper. I think it is debris, if it was water damage the bump would NOT protrude as sharply as the ones in the picture do.

I have had my current camper for two years now, and I am still finding things that are not totally right, and have to have some attention.

Honk...When you find out what they are please post it on here..curious now.

The sharp bump is the glue that has softened, combined, and hardened.

Trust me, that is water damage.

It is from water seeping behind the wallpaper. I know this from experience.

I would tend to agree with the potential water problem since it is directly under a window.

Fortunately, we have not seen that issue - but my warranty is up at the end of the month, so I will certainly be looking for it this weekend!

The issue was not there when we bought it. It showed up maybe end of June. I contacted the dealer July 2nd and I'm still waiting for them to fix the problem. It was under warranty then (2yrs factory war) now it is not but I bought the 7yr Xride extended warranty. The service dept of this dealer is the s+++s and I don't have another one close to me. So I'm kinda stuck with them. I don't really wanna pull the window out myself and reseal it because if they do come to fix it.. they might say I tampered with it.

The bumps are hard when touched. I was going to drive out to see the manager but I don't have time today.. so I called him.. and surprise surprise.. hes busy.. So think i'll take an extended lunch tomorrow and drive out..

Once this issue is fixed I will Post what was done to solve it.

Be leary of the extended warranty. Most only cover the appliances inside the unit and major systems like water/electric. Structure is rarely covered and if it is they will find an out since maintaining the seals is your responsibility.

The window is very easy to remove. You remove the dozen or so screws from the inside frame. With a helper on the outside you gently start to push/pry the window out.

My window leaked but the water seeped on the inside of the wall board, not behind it. I could watch the water come in and drip down the wall to the floor. The window had a rubber bulb seal that mated with the (outside) siding, then there was caulking around the perimeter. I removed the bulb seal and used lots of ProFlex to seal it up.

Honk
If it was under warranty when you reported to your dealer the factory should honor that and pay for the fix...
